Taking a break from MIUI over the weekend we thought we'd work on trying to port ICS over to the SGS.



Please note the version posted will be a proof of concept version, and IS NOT for daily usage nor for people unknown to flashing etc.

It is being posted for development purposes only, however Lttldvl and I wish for this to be an open community, and which for other developers to help fix the issues that are still present.

The rom DOES NOT currently get passed the lockscreen, as touch sensors and screen resolution need fixed.

Edit: using 2 fingers or back key and menu key will get you past lockscreen.

This is a product of open source, let's see what WE CAN ALL DO with it..!

    bag it currently is. I’ve never minded to give support (even to less technical people),
    but currently the amount of spammers/haters (or whatever you want to call them) have
    grown up to a level it’s not worth any more to invest my sparse free time to. Some of these people are not
    ‘susceptible to normal reasoning’, whatever effort you put in explaining why rooting
    is needed.
    So, i’ve put SM currently on ice to give me some time to reflect about its future.
    Hope to find a way to resurrect it soon.

Yep, JW1 is FAST. Not much stutter in moving from one page to another, and the internet browser is even faster! I was using GingerReal before, and I installed opera mobile, which took a long time to load up. The stock browser in the GalaxyDroid is superbly fast.

Battery life is better too, I'm not too sure of it being the kernel or the ROM, and currently I have the Semaphores 2.3.0 on my phone, works well

I'm on JW1, Modem JVT, since the installer only has the PDA file available (downloaded from SamMobile.)

Yesterday I had fully charged it at 2pm, used it quite abit , Data on, sometimes using WCDMA(3g), used the camera, and also video recording for 20secs, angry birds, talking tom, and at 10pm I still have about 59% of battery left !

Oh and have I mentioned that it has the ICS theme? If you want the full ICS theme, just download the ADW launcher and install the ICS launcher

-It's certainly good, my 2 drawbacks with the phone is right now I'm facing a bug in SMS, in which my GF's number suddenly has the number 3 infront of her number, and even deleting and then saving back the number, the bug comes back. Maybe its because of me restoring old messages.
-Another would be that it doesnt have haptic feedback on the keyboard, but the developer says that he'll look into it in future updates

i have re-flash for 2nd time the XXJVU..still cannot take picture using front camera... any solution?

How do you hardbrick your phone? SGS is hard to brick. But my
Member sgs last november had problem, the phone cannot mount internal sd.
The problem came suddenly, when the phone in idle. Not when flashing. I tried many
Solutions cannot solve that problem. Last choice send for warranty. Luckilly wait for 1 month only.
But when waiting for his SGS he already bought SGS2.

Hard brick happened when I try flash XXJW1 without .pit file about a week ago.
