Those who are interested to flash to 2.3.5 xxjvt please do so only maybe just for fun. I've flashed it yesterday but it was buggy. I only realized the wifi connection which kept dropping and the market was exorbitantly slow. Scrolling wasn't smooth as claimed. A little jerky I could say. I didn't manage to test other settings as I hated the drop in wifi connection (wifi sleep policy to wifi never turn off). In the end, I flashed back to official Malaysia 2.3.3. No problems.

Added on November 17, 2011, 11:50 amShould i change my mind and download 2.3.3 now?

Is it xxjvt? It should be the same rite? It kept dropping wifi and the Market was extremely slow. I can't even update my apps. When I switched back to 2.3.3 DXJV9 the wifi was stable and I managed to download all updates with no problems.

The wifi dropping off is a known issue. Need to change your router settings lease time to something that is not forever (i.e. 24hours). Setting a static IP on your phone helps too.

Used PIT512 to flash.

I was next to my wifi point all night but still dropped wifi connection.

No point to set static IP as it would be a hassle to always need to 'un-static IP' my phone everytime I need to connect to other wifi networks. My wifi router is 24/7.

guys, I've finish download and extracted XXJVT and here's are the files that I unzip

CODE_I9000XXJVT_CL617736_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
s1_odin_20100512.pit

I know that PIT file is put into pit and that CSC file is put into CSC slot, but how about the rest one? where to put? and why there are 2 CSC file? Multi and home CSC files, which one to choose?

I used this:

PIT – s1_odin_20100512.pit
PDA – CODE_I9000XXJVT_CL617736_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5,
Phone – MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5,
CSC – GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5

Recommended to use GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5 as it is a full CSC with most country codes

I'm redownloading xxjvt and this time the file size is 385mb. Previously downloaded was 295mb??? Maybe that was the source of my problem? Would love to have the better battery management in 2.3.5..

Reflashed to xxjvt with csc home whatever.

Thought would fix the wifi drop issue but still remained the same. It will drop wifi and connect to 3G and then reconnect to wifi. Googled it and seems that there are a lot of people suffering the same.

Haha..just trying whatever I can to solve the wifi thingy.

Router has always been on forever. On static IP now and it seems that even on static IP i get disconection. While the wifi icon would still be there, there would be no access to the internet. Sad..

I manually configured the APN for maxis as per below:

Name : Maxis

.APN : (NOTE: unet for 3G or net for GPRS)

.Proxy : 202.75.133.49

.Port : 80

.Username: maxis

.Password : wap

.Authentication Protocol:

5. Scroll further down.

6. Enter the following details for MMS settings :

.Server : Maxis MMS

.MMSC : http: //172. 16.74.100:10021/mmsc

.MMS proxy : 202.75.133.49

.MMS port : 80

.MCC : 502

.MNC : 12

.Autehntication Type: Not set

.APN Type : Internet+MMS

3G call and mobile internet is working.

Previously to save time I went to maxis.com..my and have it sent the configuration settings to my phone. I could online but couldn't 3G.

xxjvt has issues with Belkin routers as its leasing is set by default to 24 hours. I changed it to 2 weeks as advised and the wifi connection became stable back.

Just flashed to 2.3.6 XWJVZ. Home screen still a little laggy. Else, no much changes.
