guys,im just bought SGS about 1 month ago.. i want upgrade my firmware to 2.3.4 when the first page said that it the latest and the best firmware.. i already have odin 1.3.. what should i do?? it is DXJV9=XXJVQ/XXJVR??

firmware version: 2.3.3
baseband version: I9000DXJV9
kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000DXJV9-CL216763root@SE-S604 #2
build number: GINGERBREAD.DXJV9

DXJV9 is the latest GB firmware for Malaysia, but there are newer firmwares from other regions like XXJVT and XFJVA. Just download the firmware and flash the PIT, PDA, PHONE and CSC files with repartition ticked.

Nope. Performance would be much better compared to DXJV9's.

Each ROM come with the kernel, ie the stock (original) kernel.

i've read from xda-developers,firmware 2.3.5 already release.. if i used XFJVA's 2.3.5 firmware, it is okay for me? it not change anything?? coz it from europe..

Everything is fine. The only thing you have to do is to manually edit your APN according to your telco after flashing.

my fren try upgrade his firmware using odin, unfortunately, his camera cannot be used after that.. it is because of upgrading his firmware??

Ur friend may have flashed a ROM that belong to SGS instead of SGSL

make sure he's using the rom specified for SGSL, not SGS

It's normal, they include ZSJPG modem because they found it to be better (well, it's subjective as modem usage differs for everybody).

If you're not satisfied with the modem's performance, u can try flashing the modem zip files here using CWM

I just flashed too yday. Same thing here. I felt odd too btw.As long it didn't bother my daily stuffs I think its ok to keep it tat way.

can i update firmware from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 without updating 2.3.4 first??
