QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Nov 4 2011, 05:56 PM) ya, i have CWM recovery already. so, im ok to go with custom MIUI there already right? actually i've downloaded the stock MIUI from MIUIandroid site. but still hunting for better MIUI alternative. I guess Galnet's a good choice?? Added on November 4, 2011, 5:59 pmcurrently downloading Galnet's MIUI from here: http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/stable-builds/later test it... hehhehe~ Yup can flash straight away. I'm using the one from miuiandroid though. Galnet's MIUI rom is not my type.

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Nov 4 2011, 06:04 PM) what by you mean, not your type?? in terms of responsiveness, the miuiAndroid is better?? or Galnet's?? btw, how do i backup my current ROM in CWM? thanks!! I have no idea how to do a nandroid backup. Using Titanium Backup instead. I faced FC the last time I used his rom. Now should be stable I guess(?) lol. The thing I hate the most is his fugly rom theme and some bloated apps. I rather go for other MIUI roms from XDA like Mint Berry and etc. I can say the rom from miuiandroid is damn stable for now. No FC and faster than before with ThunderBolt! tweaks! This post has been edited by ronaldkh: Nov 4 2011, 06:10 PM

QUOTE(Syfq @ Nov 4 2011, 06:10 PM) what is miuiandroid and what is galnet? Different variations of MIUI roms. QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Nov 4 2011, 06:11 PM) oic... actually i have both now... i mean MiuiAndroid and Galnet's.. lets give it a spin and see how. for Mint Berry, there's some issue as i've gone through the user feedback. for Galnet, i downloaded the Stable version instead of weekly. so i just boot into recovery and install from Zipfile... then gao tim?? do i need to wipe cache first?? Wipe data if you want lo.

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Nov 4 2011, 06:16 PM) would it affect the device performance if i don't wipe the cache?? Nope haha. Just try all MIUI roms, see which one smoother for you since the theme can be changed.

QUOTE(Syfq @ Nov 4 2011, 06:46 PM) ronaldkh what are u trying to do ? can explain me ? ist give big impact flashing other rom ? any effect? Hmm you can flash custom roms/kernels to your phone if you're bored with the stock rom. Most custom roms can be found at the XDA forum. It doesn brick your phone (though there's a slight chance), but instead it improves the perfomance or user interface.

QUOTE(Syfq @ Nov 4 2011, 09:23 PM) ar .. Odin is tool like Kies also ? XXJVT is official or not? It's a tool to flash any I9000 firmwares. XXJVT is the official firmware for the Europe region. Smoother than the firmwares in the Asia region. We have Gingerbread firmware too in Malaysia, but not as smooth as XXJVT.

QUOTE(sasoji @ Nov 6 2011, 03:19 PM) Does flashing kernel via odin factory resets the phone? and do we need to insert pit file and click re-partition? Nope, it won't reset the phone. Don't have to insert pit file or tick repartition. QUOTE(nokiaXP @ Nov 6 2011, 03:38 PM) wat is the stable value of core voltage if overclocked from 1ghz to 1.2ghz?default is 1ghz - 1.275v.now i oc to 1.2ghz - 1.30v.dunno will hang or not 1.3 ghz should be fine for most phones. 1.4 ghz onwards, it's quite unstable.

QUOTE(mendoksei @ Nov 6 2011, 10:59 PM) hey ronaldkh, I read this when i tried to install pikachu thunderbolt in the step 7 i need script manager to launch remount as root rit? but I got 3 remount. Remount cm7miui, 19000, i19001 and sqlite_optimize. which 1 shall i chose? thanks ^^ Hmm I only mount the cm7/miui since I'm a miui user. i9000 is for custom roms like simplicity, darky's and etc. No idea about sqlite_optimize, I didn't touch that.

QUOTE(mendoksei @ Nov 6 2011, 11:23 PM) oh so what you did was tick run as root and in boot for remountcm7miui? so you feel ur sgs is flying dee? LOL.. anyway found something in xda "The drop script is used if you feel that your interface is sluggish. It could speeden up somewhat by dropping caches. The sqlite_optimize script is to optimize *.db files to make it faster and smaller (usually in /dbdata)
You can install everything in CWM without rebooting. Then Script Manager to activate remount. " so if i tick drop as run as root meaning i have to manually run it after each time i reboot my phone izzit?? thanks ^^ Much smoother than before since miui is a bit laggy. Yeah true, to the bolded line.
