Feels like going for Custom ROM, but any stable Custom ROM that "Sifu" suggest?
By the way, if I were to flash a custom ROM, can I still use Kies to restore my Contacts and notes?
I got lots of notes that I need to restore after I flash or update...
sweat.gif
*
i think for latest 2.3.6, better stick with stock and apply thunderbolt script. if you want something different, try ICS. got the fresh feeling. hehe

for contacts, try export to sd card or sync with google account. for notes i dunno.

Same with me, but I use hacksung ICS..
*
is the hacksung ICS is much stable than onecosmic's? in xda thread, there's seems lots of disadvantages in hacksung's compare to onecosmic's ics though. hehe

is it? mine with data on all day max can last for 8 hour with low usage.  sweat.gif
for me yes. i am using teamhacksung and onecomic on another phone. compare side by side, for smoothness teamhacksung for sure especially with custom kernel like devil and glitch. with glitch kernel my camera quality is so so suck. but its ok for me cause i rarely use my phone camera. with devil kernel it is better but still sucks compare to stock. for battery life, one comic is better just a lil bit or almost the same it is depend on phone. i got no luck on that, both draining very fast.  cry.gif  for those who have good battery life on any ics rom please report which rom you flash from and to which port. i flash from cm7-> ics teamhacksung= bad or terrible battery life 4 hour on high usage, 8hour maximum with low usage; miui-> onecomic=  ok but still bad, 4-5hours on high usage, 9-10 with low usage. i test it all with data on for whole day. please let us know your battery life. i have to charge like 2-3 times per day.  shakehead.gif

which version of market are you using? my market enabler is no longer working with the latest market.
*
yo bro! hehe. for me, i think with the onecosmic, battery life kinda okay juga. i flashed from JVU and when i'm on wifi for like 2 hours, battery life surely drain so fast punya. and also, when using the mobile network, for 30 mins, battery life dropped from 15% to 6% already. haihh. but then, when i left it for idle ( i forgot to charge the phone b4 sleep), the battery can last for up to 18 hours juga. weird eh?

and for market enabler, i just installed the ones from market then use just like usual. you cannot kah? and oh ya, how to solve the problem about the Google Music player eh? almost all my songs skipped just like that you know. sweat.gif

lol. but with wifi mine draining fast too. sad case. if play games can finish in t3 hour with full charge.  shocking.gif
wow! 18 hours?! seriously? off all data network only? even my phone on standby mode, battery will die within 9 hours.  cry.gif

my market enabler is no longer working i will test again later. for the music, which governor are you using? from xda, they said that lazy is bad for music playing, keep skipping, so try smartass v2 or ondemand. i am not using google music so cant really help much. that is what i know la.
*
yup2. right after i woke up, when look at the phone, still at 4-5% like that with 17 hours up standby time. but still cannot fight with JVU la, i can get up to 2 and half day with still 60% of battery life u know. i'll report back to you later when the phone fully charge k. hehe

ohh, i dunno pla. i just flash the RC 3.1 without changing kernel or anything. does ICS also got thunderbolt tweaks? so if i change the kernel, will it affect the smoothness @ camera smehow? i kinda like it just the way it is right now, maybe i'll try to install other music player la kot. hehe

oh ya, that's the major turn off la maybe kot. but i get used of it already, maybe bcoz i'm staying for long time with froyo ( battery life not good sangat la). memang i was shocked juga to see JVU can go up to 3 days like that owh. hehe

but.... ICS really really best woo. i'm addicted to it already. brows.gif a lots of new things to play with. hoho

if you ask me i will suggest teamhucksung. but you can try onecosmic too. both are good, if battery life is more important than performance go to onecosmic. if performance is more important then go to teamhacksung.
okok onecosmic is using ner kernel as default. if you kernel support int.d then it should be support thunderbolt. i think we need pikachu to explain to us. PIKACHU! I CHOOSE YOU! HAHAHAHHAHA! tongue.gif
*
lol, hahaha. yep, maybe wait for him to explain la. hehe, oh ya, is it true ICS will not coming to our sgs somehow? i think, with current ics custom rom in xda also the same like the official one, dont u think so?

Quite strange, i flashed from JVU + Semaphore 2.5 to onecosmic

Did the wipe data and cache

when it reboot, my phone just shows a black screen between the bootloader screen and the boot animation.

Any suggestion, it shd not be due to Bootloader, as i m move from JVU, any suggestion?
*
eh, so weird. mine also same like u, from JVU juga. but i don't wipe cache partition la, if im not mistaken just need to factory data reset only.

after u flash OC rom already, when u stuck at the boot animation, pull battery, then reboot again. should work though. report back if got prob. smile.gif

I think I'll help Pikachu to answer this tongue.gif

With the current tweaks and scripts he is able to integrate it with more kernels and phones.  If he builds a kernel, he'll only be stuck with a single phone (unless he builds different kernels for different phones tongue.gif ), and more work has to be done to maintain it.
*
ohh i see. got it. tongue.gif hehe, nowadays lots of custom roms in xda got thunderbolt tweaks though, (eg. jetpack mod). so thinking wanna give it a try pla. hehe. ics really good, but aiyooo the battery die after 8 hours of heavy usage. doh.gif

btw, do u still got phone fc after calling when in jvu? i do get it once b4, do u know how to solve it? serve me right for staying with froyo for a looooooong time. lol

yep, but the major turn off is i cannot enjoy the music so much with ics though. too much skipping! cannot stand it already. now otw dwloading jetpack rom pla. hehe

ehh, did u try jw1 smehow? is it good compare to jvu or not? i tried jvu, kinda okay jg la.

aiyak... cepatnya you give up ICS....

I reflashed to teamhacksung... the superuser seem fine, at least can gain root access

But u plp said.. it drained juice like no body business, i shall see how bad it is, onecosmic seem pretty reasonable for the drain, overnight.. it only dropped 2% from 12am to 6am
*
so sad bro, cannot enjoy much coz battery drain so fast owh. icejoker is right, perhaps b4 this my battery not really calibrated well lagi, thats why can tahan for 24 hours++ b4. later i'll flash to Jetpack rom v9, wanna test it out pla. if still not satisfy, back to stock JVU again (addicted to flash again, my phone flash-free for 4-5 months lebih u know. sweat.gif )

and what i like mostly about ics is the UI la, i kinda like the rotation animation etc. and also, very smooth juga, but itu lah, juice cepat habissss. cry.gif

I'm on jetpack 8.2 atm. Pretty snappy I'd say. I installed it with the ICS theme on the xda forum. However, the longest I can stand with battery is 19hr++ with normal daily usage with Wifi always on. saw a few people reported that they could get up to 3 days with this rom ohmy.gif Also, I havent tried the latest (v9) yet.
*
oh really? maybe its because of the theme? hehe. i'll report u back for v9 coz b4 this, when on jvu, i also get up to 3 days of battery life u know. pretty impressive for me. smile.gif

ohh ya bos, for the v8.2, is the phone.apk still got fc?

it is recommended to go to stock xxjvu first for clean installation.
jetpack? hmm. was thinking to flash to gamerz rom but after found that it is OC in default i give up d. now searching for xxjvu rom without OC and FC. LOL!
*
the best choice right now i think, jetpack mod la maybe. or maybe u can go stock and add tweaks like ken. i already finished dwload both v8.2 and 9 already. tongue.gif

Yeah, tat's what held me back.  I prefer non-OCed roms.. Now only sticking to stock.  Anyway to change the OC thing?  Seldom mess with OC thingy..
*
okayy, thank u bro. wanna flash the rom in an hour, mau lunch first. cool2.gif

still on stock Android 2.3.6... hehehe btw, my colleague always racun to use custom rom... but i think i want to stick with stock one until official ICS out this 1st quarter... if official ICS is suck then it's time for me to use custom rom... hehe

yes agreed... +1
btw, did u guys noticed new phone (maybe SGS 3) with 4.6 inch screen that samsung used in one of their demo video in CES2012
*
if iphone still stick with their 3.5 inch screen devices, i'll buy ipad 3 instead. nowadays need bigger smartphone to show off. lol tongue.gif

QUOTE(ic3joker @ Jan 18 2012, 09:58 AM)
it is not possible to change the OC thing in gamerz rom as the developer already mention that he set the best setting in his rom. if normal rom it is easy, just use voltage control or the kernel control app.
i think i will stick to stock. ok one question. stock rom + custom kernel = odex or deodex? confused with this. rclxub.gif
*
hrmm in my opinion la, i think stock odex jvu with stock kernel pun enough for me juga, but semaphore kernel is kinda at top for GB kernel right now. no more speedmod sad.gif
