I believe it's the same with the one over XDA. Touchscreen's not working yet.. need to use 2 fingers, tat's wad I heard. No point flashing now, coz u'll only get the look but can't use it

The thunder script sounds really nice to try... I read the post in xda but I just wanna make sure, If I flash nightly or Miui updates do I have to reinstall the 3 files in cwm again? and lastly is it that battery consuming? thanks alot...

Edited: and in the xda post u mention the Zach script, If i'm using his Neo kernel will it affects anything or there are extra stuff i need to do. Sorry for the noob question. Thanks again ^^

as far as i know, there's 3 files needed for flashing:
1. PIT
2. Phone
3. PDA
4. CSC


im currently on GB 2.3.4 JVP...

flashing custom kernel means which file to use in the 4 segmet of Odin??

sorry for the noob question. Last time when i flash GB stock ROM, there's PIT, PHONE and PDA to flash in one go.

but this custom kernel making my head spins~

if u wanna flash a custom kernel put the file in PDA

then let the rest empty??

I just tried, just flash directly will do...but im flash from cm7 rom, so for stock rom i have no idea

nothing special...just the base framework is 4.0, the launcher and all the other stuffs still same as MIUI
cant seen any feature from ICS

reverted back to CM7

nope. you just need a speedmod kernel place it in PDA section then turn your phone into download mode connect it to pc using usb then flash. after finis tadaaaa you got custom kernel. then copy MIUI/cm7 file into your phone. turn your phone off, go into recovery select"install from sdcard" ,find your cm7/MIUI file then flash. wait for 10-20min until the everything done. restart your phone , enjoy your cm7/MIUI.

But there's this clause when i click into SpeedMod kernel download link:
*This version is only for Samsung Gingerbread ROMs. It will not work with Samsung Froyo, CyanogenMod or MIUI ROMS!*


after flash into this kernel, i still can turn on my phone as usual right??

To my understanding you wanted to install custom kernel to root your phone so that you can install cm7 rit? if yes then it is correct, the rest just like what ic3joker mention...

do i need to unpack the MIUI package downloaded from MIUI_Android site first??

or simply dump the zip file into internal SD card root directory??

then i think it should be ok....

speedmod kernel will work on 2.3.4. . no worries on it. (just reverted back from CM7, so not my type)

after i flash to this kernel... i still can boot up my phone which was based on stock GB 2.3.4 right?

It's not advisable as CM7 and MIUI are running on 2.3.7. I think you're referring to apps and data?
