man using ICS if u put mobile data will suck up a LOT of battery
*
is it? mine with data on all day max can last for 8 hour with low usage. sweat.gif

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 17 2012, 02:14 PM)
is the hacksung ICS is much stable than onecosmic's? in xda thread, there's seems lots of disadvantages in hacksung's compare to onecosmic's ics though. hehe
i just install market enabler and then change it to at&t us, then search map again in the market. there you go. smile.gif
*
for me yes. i am using teamhacksung and onecomic on another phone. compare side by side, for smoothness teamhacksung for sure especially with custom kernel like devil and glitch. with glitch kernel my camera quality is so so suck. but its ok for me cause i rarely use my phone camera. with devil kernel it is better but still sucks compare to stock. for battery life, one comic is better just a lil bit or almost the same it is depend on phone. i got no luck on that, both draining very fast. cry.gif for those who have good battery life on any ics rom please report which rom you flash from and to which port. i flash from cm7-> ics teamhacksung= bad or terrible battery life 4 hour on high usage, 8hour maximum with low usage; miui-> onecomic= ok but still bad, 4-5hours on high usage, 9-10 with low usage. i test it all with data on for whole day. please let us know your battery life. i have to charge like 2-3 times per day. shakehead.gif

which version of market are you using? my market enabler is no longer working with the latest market.

Yes same with me if use data. but if use wifi or off data really save a lot, I'm quite satisfied with it.
*
lol. but with wifi mine draining fast too. sad case. if play games can finish in t3 hour with full charge. shocking.gif

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 17 2012, 03:28 PM)
yo bro! hehe. for me, i think with the onecosmic, battery life kinda okay juga. i flashed from JVU and when i'm on wifi for like 2 hours, battery life surely drain so fast punya. and also, when using the mobile network, for 30 mins, battery life dropped from 15% to 6% already. haihh. but then, when i left it for idle ( i forgot to charge the phone b4 sleep), the battery can last for up to 18 hours juga. weird eh?

and for market enabler, i just installed the ones from market then use just like usual. you cannot kah? and oh ya, how to solve the problem about the Google Music player eh? almost all my songs skipped just like that you know.  sweat.gif
*
wow! 18 hours?! seriously? off all data network only? even my phone on standby mode, battery will die within 9 hours. cry.gif

my market enabler is no longer working i will test again later. for the music, which governor are you using? from xda, they said that lazy is bad for music playing, keep skipping, so try smartass v2 or ondemand. i am not using google music so cant really help much. that is what i know la.

I see u using both Teamhacksung and Onecosmic's, which u think is user friendly and better?

Thinking to move to RC3.1..
*
if you ask me i will suggest teamhucksung. but you can try onecosmic too. both are good, if battery life is more important than performance go to onecosmic. if performance is more important then go to teamhacksung.

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 17 2012, 03:45 PM)
yup2. right after i woke up, when look at the phone, still at 4-5% like that with 17 hours up standby time. but still cannot fight with JVU la, i can get up to 2 and half day with still 60% of battery life u know.  i'll report back to you later when the phone fully charge k. hehe

ohh, i dunno pla. i just flash the RC 3.1 without changing kernel or anything. does ICS also got thunderbolt tweaks? so if i change the kernel, will it affect the smoothness @ camera smehow? i kinda like it just the way it is right now, maybe i'll try to install other music player la kot. hehe
*
okok onecosmic is using ner kernel as default. if you kernel support int.d then it should be support thunderbolt. i think we need pikachu to explain to us. PIKACHU! I CHOOSE YOU! HAHAHAHHAHA! tongue.gif

teamhacksung just have too frequent build, meaning have to keep flashing and restored apps...

Onecosmic, i noticed it doesn't come out too often..

Technically, flashing ICS ROM either from Teamhacksung or onecosmic, the kernel as long as suit for CM will be able to use for ICS right?
*
actually update build will not wipe your data or apps. just flash rom+ gapps+face unlock in one shot will do.

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 17 2012, 04:04 PM)
lol, hahaha. yep, maybe wait for him to explain la. hehe, oh ya, is it true ICS will not coming to our sgs somehow? i think, with current ics custom rom in xda also the same like the official one, dont u think so?
*
no, i dont think it is the same. if we got official rom from samsung, we will be able to do video call using 3g network which doesn't supported by cm team. secondly, the battery life will be definitely better than cm team. the camera quality will be better than cm team and 720p recording.

I tot onecosmic camera is working fine  rclxub.gif

it is fine but not best. i feel stock rom have better quality of camera compare to AOSP rom.

Teamhacksung bulid 13 and from galaxydroid 5.0. Yeah quite satisfied, but it was most of the time my handfon on idle, if surf nonstop using data will get only 3 to 4 hours only.

I dont know how you use your phone, but in my case I only surf a little, but in my term of moderate use I think I can get the 12 hours battery life, ok tomorrow will try the battery usage using data with moderate usage.
one thing how can I screenshot in ICS?

And one more thing, I off my auto sync, only my email and FB sync every one hour.
*
Just hold volume down+ power for 3 sec

downloading new gamerz rom now! smile.gif migrating from simplicity santa since there is so many good reviews over here! do i need to flash stock first or just flash it directly?
*
it is recommended to go to stock xxjvu first for clean installation.

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 18 2012, 01:46 PM)
oh really? maybe its because of the theme? hehe. i'll report u back for v9 coz b4 this, when on jvu, i also get up to 3 days of battery life u know. pretty impressive for me. smile.gif

ohh ya bos, for the v8.2, is the phone.apk still got fc?
*
jetpack? hmm. was thinking to flash to gamerz rom but after found that it is OC in default i give up d. now searching for xxjvu rom without OC and FC. LOL!

Yeah, tat's what held me back.  I prefer non-OCed roms.. Now only sticking to stock.  Anyway to change the OC thing?  Seldom mess with OC thingy..
*
it is not possible to change the OC thing in gamerz rom as the developer already mention that he set the best setting in his rom. if normal rom it is easy, just use voltage control or the kernel control app.

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jan 18 2012, 03:38 PM)
the best choice right now i think, jetpack mod la maybe. or maybe u can go stock and add tweaks like ken. i already finished dwload both v8.2 and 9 already. tongue.gif
okayy, thank u bro. wanna flash the rom in an hour, mau lunch first.  cool2.gif
do SGN treat u well like ur old sgs juga?  brows.gif
*
i think i will stick to stock. ok one question. stock rom + custom kernel = odex or deodex? confused with this. rclxub.gif

there is no build in BLN for teamhacksung build 14 except you flash a custom kernel. for stock kernel go to setting>display>untick "pulse backlight notification(something like this)".

hi all galaxy s owners,
sorry for my noob but i have to ask some questions here. my wife is using galaxy s n has been complaining it's lag..even compared to my galaxy w, my w is better. she's on stock rom, firmaware 2.3.3, baseband I9000DXJV9, kernel version 2.6.35.7-19000DXJV9-CL216763 root@SE-S604 #2, build no GINGERBREAD.DXJV9.
i have been reading the 1st page of this thread for like so many times but seriously i dont know where to start. i wanted to install custom rom which is debloated, lag free n fast, just for simple everyday use. i know i have to root 1st.
can please someone here just tell me 1 quick way to install a custom rom? there are so many ways/method/roms/kernel from the 1st page, i dont know which 1 should use.
please forgive me for my noobs..
*
probably xxjvu is the best. the guide is on first page. the steps to flash is same for all rom. you can follow the guide on my siggy. smile.gif

Just to correct this.. To revert to the default frequency(1GHz) in Gamerzrom, just delete "S05enable_oc_1200" script in /etc/init.d folder and reboot.
*
great! now i am thinking to flash this rom. so is it ok if i change to normal kernel? doesnt want the bigmen kernel. between anyone on doctorz rom? how is it?

a video on how to flash xxjvu had been added into first page so that first time flasher or beginner can easily follow the guide. all the best! anyone here still using froyo and eclair? i feel like clear all the froyo and eclair stuffs if no one is still using it. will leave the revert to froyo part.

I flashed mine with TH ICS (CM9). Using launcher pro is very laggy. I dunno why. Maybe due to many widgets. Usinf Phone, People, Messaging and Whatsapp are very slow on load up. Alot of apps FC or laaaaaag. Even after i tried overclock with Devil kernel.

Later, i found out that using the stock Trebuet launcher is smooth. so i reflash exbase and flash TH ICS again without installing launcher pro. Using stock launcher now for about 1 day+. Everything is smooth. :-D

So, for those who find lag in TH ICS, try using the stock launcher only.
*
if you want more smooth try nova launcher. wink.gif

if you dont have data plan and you only want to receive and send mms, only key in mms apn , DO NOT set apn for internet or else you will get a shocking bill end of month. LOL!

Guys i will be very busy for the following month due to my final year and so on. so i hope that there will be some one will take over this thread. icon_question.gif gmhafiz? ken?
