QUOTE(Kenzany @ Nov 1 2011, 11:08 PM) is the internal storage of this hp 1gb? internal storage is faster of course but it is limited, according to specs internal is 2 gb. card is mainly to store larger files such as game data, videos, mp3 files, etc. you can store apps in SD card also but it is slower and bootup time u have to wait for the app to load up (if you store in sd) before you can use it.i keep thinking that internal storage is better than card storage, is it true or is the same? |

QUOTE(Kenzany @ Nov 2 2011, 12:37 AM) so you mean those phones that come with big internal storage has an advantage of running apps faster compared to lets say sony which dont even have 1gb internal storage (heavily rely on sd)? that's correct. having more stuff on internal is an advantage over having them on SD especially apps. For media or data its still fine because upon its not so obvious. This post has been edited by CyberKewl: Nov 2 2011, 07:38 AM |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Nov 2 2011, 10:53 AM) posting again... i think should be ok, i'm planning to get this phone for my wife this week, the GPU is Adreno 205 for galaxy w - same GPU that is powering the Xperia Play so performance wise should be just ok / average. Dont expect it to perform as well as Galaxy S II or HTC Sensation's GPU since this is a budget phone.any owners can try the two games mentioned above and feedback on the performance? it should be a good enough test to know how the phone holds up... thanks. |

QUOTE(paden @ Nov 2 2011, 10:27 PM) my ex-colleague told me his SGS II got some sort of counter to track if you root your phone or something like that, u might want to hold off rooting cos it will void your warranty and they have a way to track it i believe. |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Nov 3 2011, 08:18 AM) Samsung so terrible ah? They gave a couple of SGS2 to the custom ROM devs to encourage custom ROMs for the phone, then they track root in the phone and void warranty? not sure la, that's what my ex-colleague told me, will check with him again on this. while samsung encourages custom ROMs, doesn't mean that flashing to a custom ROM doesnt void warranty. They just give you the option, if you ok with it and understand the consequences then go ahead and flash..i guess that's what samsung is trying to say?Better try 1080p in all sorts of encoding. I remember Galaxy SL can play 720p encoded in MP4 but not in AAC (or something - memory fails me). But I have a feeling this phone can take any videos thrown at it. |

i just went to a shop just now - saw a white galaxy w, if anyone interested can go to the shop at the top floor of pyramid, same area as digital centre - the samsung shop right in the middle there got white one. looks really nice but my wife prefer the grey one.
overall i did a quick test and my wife also tested, weight wise lighter than my nexus one, the UI is pretty speedy, nothing to complain. din test anything else. btw they are charging RM 999 - 2 years e-warranty This post has been edited by CyberKewl: Nov 4 2011, 05:37 PM |

for those interested to know how white color galaxy w looks like - http://www.tekgoblin.com/2011/08/28/white-galaxy-w-surfaces/
saw this at sunway pyramid - digital centre outside - there is a samsung booth selling samsung and I believe some HTC phones too - they have white units for sale. No black ones though. |

QUOTE(Kenzany @ Nov 4 2011, 06:09 PM) havent have the chance to test out all the above cases.. but it's pretty loud and clear when i was playing the music yesterday, and image quality is.. average or slightly above.. remember, you pay for what you get yes i meant what i said - sunway pyramid HAS a white unit. That's the only white unit i saw so far today, the rest shops looks like carrying the black/grey model. this shop charging 999 retail price but 2 years warranty. for me, i dont mind if pay a bit more for 2 years even though many around are charging 899 for 2 years too, but i lazy to go so far also..troublesome.Added on November 4, 2011, 6:10 pm yep, and it feels comfy too LOL.. anyway, sunway has white model?! did i just misinterpret what i just see? |
