 thermal paste ? Where is it?, I need some ideas on it

I've opened the cover of my Asus N50V due to the heat problem. I'm wondering where to apply the paste? Thanks for helping.

I not so sure about applying thermal paste on a notebook but cooling pad probably does a better cooling job than that. But still, under this picture I circled both your CPU and GPU.

All the vital part that need cooling are strapped to copper.

yes it is still working. I dare not to open right side here. It writes something like warranty will be void if the sticker is removed. Somehow, it looks so dangerous for me to remove it. Do you guys know if lowyat provides this service?

Look like no sticker somewhere at heatsink.. if warranty near to end.. just unscrew.. nothing will harm the proc n gpu.. unless u didnt put thermal paste.. hehe smile.gif

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif u already half way doing the job done. If there's still warranty for ur laptop, it already void once u opened the back panel. dont bother send it to lowyat. Just take out the screw that secure the circle part as picture in sonicstream replied. put the thermal paste and u r done. icon_rolleyes.gif

Send it to service center since you still have warranty...dont bother or u will void the warranty

if got warranty send back to your asus.u might void the warranty if you damage the board.if no warranty.you can do it your self.no need to send to shop unless you dont know how to do it.

The result is after I applied the thermal paste, the problem is still existing and never go away. I gave up of repairing it anymore and I just bought myself a new HP laptop.

I gave it to my little cousin already since he uses it for light software, so it works fine.

easy..

remove heatsink..

remove old compound using isophyl alcohol

apply new compound

put back heatsink.... screw alll evenly...
