Only Costume Quest for me but doubt i will have time to play it

Wanna ask why is some games in Steam more expensive than retail physical copy such as Heroes of Might and Magic 6 and Skyrim?

Feel like buying Skyrim but not through Steam cause of this since i already paid quite a lot for HoMM6
