 advise on DVD GPS navigation system

I want to change my HU to 7" DVD navigation system but know that the sound quality will drop and cannot get the crystal clear sound even i change the entry level amp and speakers. or any good suggestion to get a better sound system?

change to branded dvd player and navigation will solve it....ur prob is with the hu....the money u buy amp and spk can let u have a better hu....

Chevrolet Cruze cant feed in the after market 2 din HU eg. kenwood...
any recommend hoviechoo?

Hi howiechoo,

I also have the same problem with using GPS HU (using wince), i can't get the crystal clear sound, can share us your solution?

i read this phase somewhere,i can't remember much but here goes,

wise man always looking for cheap,good quality and durable product
but wiser man can't have all three..they can only have two.

1. change the hu, if the panel wont fit, then customize the panel will do

2. add in sound processor, got cheap and expensive..wat u pay wat u get

3. if the above too expensive, change spk can help "a bit". but the prob wil still be there.

4. live with it

If it was so easy, the world is such a perfect place. As an "audio expert", some of you here must know that some cars nowadays comes with an integrated system where some car settings are controlled within the same HU. For such a situation, it's not a simple solution of customizing the panel as the HU will have to include the OEM setting (air cond, lighting, alarm etc) which will have to run through a CANBUS. As much as these owners want say an Alpine or Pioneer HU, it's just not possible without the OEM settings.

Yes, of coz the owner can live with it but if that is so, all ICE shop can close. What's the point right if everyone can "live with it"?

if that troubles you so much, you can just add in audio processors over the original hu/panel and that settles it.

yes thats why they have more processors with speaker level input for integrated head units that cant be changed
