Got 1 adapter from sony, but too bad is for car only. The one came with the cassette adapter.
I think if scout around KL should got alot adapters right, those adapter for gameboy can change voltage and got few heads one.
*
I think so. I don't want those lousy stuff which can easily kill my amp sweat.gif
QUOTE(March05 @ Oct 30 2005, 07:54 PM)
3 volts AC/DC adapters are quite common, aren't they? the only thing to watch out for is the polarity, since this amp uses a negative tip which is not so usual.

but i have a question, refering to this:

If the amp was designed to best handle 2.4 volts, then why are we looking for a 3 volt adapter? wouldn't this introduce noise too? or is the adapter just meant to be used to charge up the batteries?
*
For those selectable power adaptor, usually you can set the polarity. (off the power, wait a while then only switch)
I believe it is hard to find those power adaptor which is just purely supply 2.4 volts and also if you study more on the rechargeable batteries. Usually they need higher voltage to charge.
QUOTE(nles @ Oct 30 2005, 08:30 PM)
In the 1st post davis mention that the batteries work as a dc filter for the adapter. GOt anything to do with this?
*
Err... for the filter concept. We can microscoping it with Non Line-Interactive UPS. This model of UPS provide the best clean power if compare with Line-Interactive model.
QUOTE(Categg @ Oct 30 2005, 08:52 PM)
Sure no problem. Btw, another forum member airbag_grado who owns the amp recomends we buy the adaptor from KLCC best dengki Teletron brand.  laugh.gif
*
Thank you. Will put up at my first post. Teletron? Should be Malaysia made brand, price less than RM20.

Not necessarily. May be better to get a regulated power supply, will cost you a little bit more, but the voltage will be stable...

Any idea or sample pic or specs?

okay, good suggestion. I just took another longer look at the page and it raised one more question after answering most of the others.

"A more strict, internal power supply circuit filters and eliminates the 60 Hz hum and distortion sounds some owners reported when listening with the AC adapter plugged in."

Our problem here would be a 50Hz hum instead of the 60 Hz one the filter takes out.

But in any case, it's not a serious problem, since i don't think i'll be using it while in charging mode anyway. Not if the batteries can last 100 hours between charges.  thumbup.gif
*
I don't think that's a problem too smile.gif
Now scouting the adapter in my hometown electronic store.

Just got my amp. Stuffed in 2 pcs NiMH2100 batteries.
At first I thought WTF... I bought a lemon sad.gif KNS my Samsung mp3 player even better as the floor noise much lower than the amp.

After 2 hours...

I barely can hear the singer saliva mouthing in his mouth.! LOL The very low frequencies bass can hear now... there are few notes coming out...

Still in burn-in process.

My current setup is.
My Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe onboard Realtek ALC-850 dsp (mid volume) > (DIY nickel platted 3.5mm stereo jack male to male 1 Metre Maruni professional microphone cable) > PA2V2 amp pure batteries powered 2.4v 75% volume > Philips HP1000
