Gamers (who usually is the highest user of RAM) are already starting the long wait for Vista. For an averange user, XP is still good enuff.

O'RLY? I've been using 1GB on my Vista and my games run fine without lags. Sometimes, theory is not enough, you just need to use it to know

You must be kidding me, even 2GB for my Win XP Pro, it's just nice, how could it be running smoothly with 1GB when the recommended specs is 2GB for Vista? Vista alone uses around 500 mb to 700 mb of ram space. Maybe if yours a stripped down version of Vista then I dunno lah.  tongue.gif

Bah, for one, I never install anything that eats too much RAM in the background
and secondly, why are you so confident when you have never used this OS?

note also the RAM + Proc eating Football Manager is running
yes, more ram means much more performance gain, but that is not the only thing that can make a PC faster. obselete and crappy softwares are also a problem too.

I'm playing oblivion, Carbon, GTR2 and rFactor (both are more resource hungry than carbon), and it feels fine.
