MORE RAM is always the way of the future.
i remember those days when i play with 640k memory on config sys just to get a game running and with like 7 different configs for various purpose.
2 GB the way of the future?

QUOTE(sunauto @ Dec 11 2006, 04:44 PM) That's good, at least you can feel the difference unlike some people, keep on telling me that there's no different or any benefits to use 2GB of ram. To me, the more ram, the better the system performance will be. more RAM is always better. whoever told you no benefit needs a knock on the head, unless of course they meant really light usage. |

QUOTE(sunauto @ Dec 12 2006, 12:32 PM) Well, sometimes I'll vomit blood talking to such people because they're not observant enough and they can't differentiate the performance gains with 1GB or 2GB of ram, they think it's the same. Of course, even for light usage like internet surfing, I could open at least a few applications running in the background and copying large documents will be a piece of cake. Anyway, I'm sure, in the future, computers will probably have 10GB of ram or more provided if the price is cheap, like you have mentioned, more ram is better but seeing that Win XP 32-bit doesn't support more than 3GB of ram, it's pointless to use 4GB at the moment. Windows craves memory but even if it doesn't, once they understand how memory works they'll learn to appreciate more memory. the earliest of the computers i own, had only less than 640k memory. |
