hey guys, want to check if anyone have faced any problem with bloated tummy kittens?
i have 2 3 mths+ old kittens adopted from shelter. their tummy is still big after 1 mths with me but they eat like hungry ghost, active & playful. is that a huge problem?

help! my kitten still poops on the floor even though i already bought a litter box...how can i make her do her thing in the litter box?
this morning the first thing i did was clean the deed she has done..not a very nice thing to do to start the day
*
this one you need to spend some time.usually 30mins after feeding, I'll watch them like a hawk. any sign of pooing, I'll bring them to the litter box to let them do their business. a gentle pat and prise after they did it. repeat 2 more rounds, they'll usually get it. on top of this, i'll put the litter box exactly where they poo.

mine was successful. hope this helps

why u wanna change brand? u wanna find something better than prodiet or ur kittens don't like it? can try equilibrio kitten. my cats love it.

but prodiet considered cheap oredi.. maybe u can go to the shop and look for other brands with similar price tag or cheaper. but u know what they say; cheap not always good, good not always cheap
*
something better than prodiet & comes with bigger pack. my Kittens doesnt like RC.
of course cheap things no good, good things not cheap. so i'm looking for those under Rm18/kg range, i reckon i shld hv quite a number of choices.

currently fighting with earmite, blooted tummy, ring worm & now saw a black skin on his leg (maybe sporo) sweat.gif

now hv to give them oral med once every 3 days for the deworm & the ear mites.
vet didnt give any medication for the ears as the oral med is good enough.
the tummy gets smaller i think, but i could be wrong as they grow longer week by week. no worm observed after the 1st medication
For almost 2 weeks, i'll still hv to clean their ears once every 3 days
they are not happy with the ear digging but luckily they just struggle, never claws or bite me.

Vet visit is killing my pocket cry.gif
80+ for first session
90+ for the recent one. f/up again next 2 weeks.

how long does the battle of earmites usually takes?

sporo? that's serious. separate those suspected with sporo.

what u giving them for earmites? i don't remember what i used last time. it was white bottle with green label. thick white liquid. very effective.
*
maybe sporo, vet didnt see that patch on last visit. so ntg is confirmed.
i thought i was a ring worm but the patch doesn't look like the other.
can anyone here can help me to take a look b4 i bring him to vet again?

nothing was given for the earmites except the oral medication.
i asked med to be applied to the ear for the earmites from the vet, vet says 'we are giving the oral med', i asked how long will it takes to heal: 'it wont be that fast', the vet says
almost 100 bucks for each visit, i think i better change and see another vet. wink.gif

i want them to be healthy enough to take the vaccine & then neuter them.
they are now hitting 4 mths old and weighted 1kg for female & 1.4kg for male

No injection. And it's not really a cream, it's a solution that is applied using cotton buds.

my kittens are with ringworm too, required to shower them once every 5days with the gel given by Vet. currently in week 3 fighting with the fungus, slow improvement sad.gif

thanks @kizwan

they are doing better, still under recovery, can see hairs are growing back.
bloated tummy are smaller now, maybe when they grow, the body elongates and the tummy become smaller.
they still fight, play & eat happily, sometimes go hyper for the whole day and KO under 5 mins when i put them in cage. Now they learned how to opened their own cage shakehead.gif

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Dec 7 2014, 12:00 AM)
Hi all.

I intend to adopt cat [or kitten], as I am of the opinion that it is more economical than to buy it from the pet store.

Can anyone suggest the adoption centre around Selangor/Kuala Lumpur area?
*
sry, pls allow me to comment a bit on the word 'economical'.
we adopt cos we want to give a home/a chance to live for those poor stray cats, not 'economical'. you gotta get the mindset right. Adopt will also stop the unethical 'kitty'mill activities.

For my case, it it not 'economical'. I spent quite a lump sum of $$ to treat my 2 kittens for the sickness they suffered when they were stray & got from the rescue centre/animal shelter. (malnutrition, earmites, ringworm, diarrhoea & flu)
I believe the $$ I spent on them for the med & food I could hv just buy a kitten from the pet shop.
They may not be as beautiful as those selling in the pet shop but with all the effort & TLC I put in for them, they are my sweethearts.

Just giving you a headsup smile.gif

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Dec 9 2014, 11:08 PM)
Hi there,
Many thanks for the constructive criticisms.

Please allow me to elaborate more on what I meant.

I concur that the reason to adopt is because we want to give a home i.e. having new family members.

When I meant economical, I mean it in the sense that it makes more logical sense to spend the money on taking care of the cat, as opposed to paying the pet store, and ending up having less for the cats.

To put it in monetary terms;

Adoption cost (let's say from PAWS/SPCA) : RM100 (including vaccinations and such)
Paying for a cuddly cat put on display at the pet store : RM1,400++

From the get-go, paying from the pet store would set the buyer RM1,300 less than adopting.
Which in turn means less to care for the cat.

It may mean that the cat may get substandard food/toys.

^ That was I meant.

In no way did I imply that I plan to get cat because it is economical per se.
