In a couple of weeks after gave birth, the mother can easily stress & she will moved her kittens if she feels the place is not safe. What I did when my cat gave birth is by preparing a box. She jump into the box herself. I put the box at a quiet & not too bright place. I also doesn't go near to her kittens for two or three weeks because I know the mother doesn't like it. Cat can take care of her newly born kittens just fine without human help.
