For litter, you can train her to use the toilet.

If you want to buy cat litter, for one cat, one bag of cat litter can last one month or more. Regular clumping cat litter cost around RM15 to RM20 (10L - lasted at least one month for one cat). Pine wood & charcoal cost around RM30 to RM40 (9kg - lasted up to 3 months or more for one cat). Crystal cat litter cost around RM35 (1.5kg - lasted one month for one cat). Crystal cat litter is the best in controlling the odour, regular clumping litter come second. The pine wood is very economical but odour control a bit poor than the other two. It still make the poop less smelly though. I have not yet try charcoal but I heard it is better than pine wood & it's economical like pine wood.

If you have limited budget, you don't need to buy expensive cat food. But since you only have one cat, you only need to spent little money for your cat every month. If your cat is really is she, spaying your cat is good idea since you have limited budget.

BTW, she is very cute.  biggrin.gif

This is Comel, my Maine Coon look alike cat. The mother is Siamese & the father is regular cat. This is my second DHL cat I have so far & I believe the father cat carry the genes or something. She like to *sit* like that.  biggrin.gif

lol your cat is funny biggrin.gif

thanks for your reply...

iam glad that the first time my little kitten saw the litter she immediately knew how to use it, in fact she immediately used it, right in front of our eyes...

now is the time i hunt for the cheapest litter method. i read in the www that some people use chicken feed... does it work?

All I know all vaccines are important.  tongue.gif If you don't want to get "cheated" bring your cat to government veterinary clinic.

I recommend put a leash & harness on your cat when bring your cat to outside for walks. Kittens when hyper they tend to suddenly run toward the road.
You should bring your cat to vet ASAP, please. Shaking probably got fever which means she probably got infection or something.

you should~
a/d is a kind of cat food, just for sick/weak kitties
you should try asking SPCA, they help at times. my cat is unvaccinated since she's 100% indoors. But i will deworm and spay her when she reaches 3 months

thanks for your advice... smile.gif

need help. how to potty train my kitten.

if i put an open tray of litter sand, they will eat the litter sand.

so i put paper inside, but they dont seem to like the idea of pee/poo on paper. in the end, they release themselves where they want. adoiiii.. how laaaa!!!
*
good luck, will putting some of its poo in the litter box help to 'suggest' to it to use it as toilet?

my experience, not to show off, the very first moment i put the litter box (filled with litter sand) in front of my kitten, its miraculously knew its the toilet. i am blessed biggrin.gif

Hi guys~ I adopted 2 kittens (not sure about their ages, probably around 3-4 months) from my neighbor around 2-3 weeks ago. At first they still want to eat the jelly food in the pouch/canned but then one day when my mom cooked fish, they kept meowing so we gave them the fish mixed with rice and after that they don't want to eat their food anymore (the wet/jelly type and the dry type also) TT A TT We already bought quite numerous of foods for them but none really working. They only want to eat rice with fish/chicken (my mom boiled them) and don't want to eat anything else. I tried to mix the rice with fish/chicken with a little of their food (dry (kibbles) and wet/jelly type) too (planning to slowly change their food) but they don't want to eat it if I mix with the dry/wet/jelly food =A=;; They're really picky and I think they have sensitive noses too. What should I do? Should I get them some kind of vitamin or whatever to increase their appetite? Should I bring them to vet just for this? I know it's not good for cat to eat rice... It's also hard for my mom to keep boiling chicken and fish for them (as we have to remove the bones as well as make the chicken and fish turn into smaller pieces). Helpppppp ; A ;
*
some cats actually get bloating if they eat rice...

by the way, i think you can try mixing the cat kibbles with the sauce or gravy from the fish your mum cook... i do this with my cat... also i think not encouraged to give them our food coz our food tend to be too salty for them, which among others, can cause their hair to fall more...

maybe try not to spoil your kitten, just try your best to give them cat food, when they are hungry... they will eat smile.gif

just my noobie suggestion...

I just rescued and adopted 2 kittens; both 'kucing jalanan' breed (domestic short hair).
One is almost 4 months old and another just a baby about a month old.
I've been feeding them Pro-Diet, both kibbles and wet food.
I've been going to the vet once a months for check-up, deworm, etc and my vet said both are healthy.

I haven't asked my vet yet about what is the most suitable food brand to give to them.
They both are taking the liking of Pro-diet and it costs cheap too.
I heard some bad reviews about the brand.

So do you guys have any other brand which is affordable for me to try?
Remember my babies are not the expensive type of cats so i don't want to spend much on their food.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

i use tesco so far so good, fur also smooth and silky... my cat likes it too...

just to avoid him being bored of the same food, we buy him canned wet cat food sometimes, but mixed but its dry food. my cat will go crazy and can eat a lot...

Vaccinations and spaying/neutering are mutually exclusive. You do not have to have vaccinations before neutering and vice versa.

ok thanks, now its clear coz one of the vet made it compulsory

Please don't judge a vet office based on the front desk lady, since it is possible that she was hired purely for the receptionist position and has nothing to do with the actual vet practice.

Now, if the front desk lady was a vet tech, then maybe you can worry a little. However, a person's demeanor doesn't mean that they're like that with your pet.

thanks for your advice notworthy.gif , let me clarify that i have not made any conclusion based on one encounter, but first impressions can be worrying... i'll just assume she is busy having to deal with so many people on a daily basis

happy to report that my cat is back minus the marbles. hope he recovers quick

I give my cats dried catnip on their scratcher. They love it. I would grow some myself, since I can buy a small fresh pot at the pet store, but I don't think they would even let it grow. That's how crazy they are about it =)

What do you want to know about it? It's a perfectly safe plant. It's actually a member of the mint family.

*
hmm.gif i got buy mint sometimes laugh.gif but my cat loves pandan leaves laugh.gif

i'll try to find catnip at pet stores, while hoping to come across pokok galak kucing (local catnip). right now i'm just plucking some leaves from random roadside wild herbs that look like pokok galak kucing and let my cat decide if he likes it...

if anyone here is from Penang island and knows where to find this pokok galak kucing pls lemme know notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
