Just a question, if a provider provides me a 1Mbps AIMS dedicated line for my dedicated server, is it possible for him to make it burstable to 1.5Mbps? i thought when i get a dedicated line i would be able to get max 1Mbps only? How is it possible that it can be burstable? Does that mean its not dedicated, instead shared? Pls reply asap..need the info

unless stated burstable clearly by the provider no its capped to 1mbps. but usually provider in malaysia provide 1mbps dedi/10mbps burst.

Bad Services from them. I am been pissed of by this guy Andygen from http://greatwebsitedeveloper.com, have sign up a web design and hosting plan with him earlier this year. Poor services and Bad attitude. Before paying i request anything also said no problem, after make the full payment, he totally ignore me, no reply my email, sms, call etc. The quality of design is not good also, everything is from template.

Not recommend anyone to sign up services with him.

i registered a RM50 web hosting from MyItPlanet, http://www.myitplanet.com/products.asp 3 days ago. i created myself a domain, and i can access to the control panel, however, until now there is no way i can visit my domain through a web browser. i sent some emails to them regarding this problem, and i get no reply, and they dun even provide a number to call. Anyone can tell me, is it we must wait for some time before we can visit our domain? thank you.

You can try using them. Use up all the 375GB of DiskSpace and before you even reach there, they will ask you to shift to a bigger account (such as a VPS or dedicated) or get suspended. They will point to their TOS or AUP and say it is written on the policy.

Either that, you get support that is really horrible or a cramped up server.

Always remember that in the hosting industry, you get what you pay for.

What do you mean overselling?
Can you let me know more about the consequences if I host my web page there.

lol. about the webspace I agree. Usually if you go overboard they do dumb things. Bandwidth wise.. Check out most major top websites in US. Such as IXHosting, etc. Those rated top hosting companies are giving out crazy bandwidth why: their bandwidth is 'free'. In countries such as US where most are more technically smarter, they can complain, get to the govt and sue that company that don't provide the specs they need. Sadly in Malaysia ain't that case yet.

Why I need so large space?
Actually I need it to host file, and the mean time I want to cut down my cost.

Before this I'm so interest in the Shinjiru Linux standard hosting plan they offer 50GB web space and 100GB bandwidth for only RM190. So far I know the Shinjiru is a big company, and more reliable (I think).

Apart from this, another web hosting provider, webhostingbuzz, off us a large web space 375GB for only about RM190(almost same with the shinjiru standard plan price). But what I scare this is a scam, even they offer us this large web space but they can pull down the network speed, how do we know, they can do what ever at behind to limit us.

I'm now so confuse when choosing a web hosting server

Any recommendation can give me?

In terms of bandwidth, some dedicated box does have unlimited bandwidths but they are at a slower rate as compared to limited but faster bandwidths.

Shinjiru is a good company that is relatively big and is expanding. Serverfreak has been around for sometime. Giz Technology has also been around for sometime too.

Well its pretty simple actually. Are the files you want to host, are they important? If they really are, like some kind of important company document, you should go for those more well known trustable ones. If you don't mind downtimes once a while, which are common for cheaper webhosting, or if the files are not that important(More for personal usage), you might look for a cheaper hosting. What's your budget?

Then you can try the one u said abt shinjiru. Or try ipserverone. I don't think you will try mine la not trustable yet
