Anyone notice the Nokia Sleeping Screen is now available on Nokia Store?

If anyone worry about sleeping screen using up batt, simply put the N8 face down and the display will turn off until you flip it back up again.

have you guys seen the video for lumia?
I think Nokia going for Window 7 isn't that bad of an idea after all.

Right now its a bad idea given the lack of support for Windows Phone 7 in Malaysia. You can't purchase apps due to marketplace support issue unless you give false info on your current location.

When i tot it just became better.... Haiz...

Btw, is Ovistore/Nokia Store still available since i had bought a few apps there...

I prepare to leave N8 if WP7 supports Malaysia 100%. 12MP not worth it if the slow performance drives me nuts.

I am opposite that got turbo engine but doesnt fulfill my needs example comfort no point.

Its like having a Ferrari car in Malaysia then always stuck in jam and afraid someone steal and damage your car.

Different people have different needs.  To you maybe slow but to some it doesn't feel that slow
*
The issue is not the "turbo engine". If I wanted turbo engine, I go get Galaxy SII or iPhone 4S. Most important to me is smooth, fast, and responsive user experience.

I felt the experience on S^3 was slow and more often making the N8 feel clunky. See how the Nokia Store stutters from time to time, or that the S^3 itself becomes lagging for unknown reason. Even Angry Birds suffer stuttering from time to time.

What I saw demoed on the WP7 OS no the Nokia Lumia 800 was impressive, and dare I say more impressive than iPhone's iOS. If they could put that OS inside the Nokia N8 I would be a happy clam, but its not possible.

I guess Belle would be my N8's last chance but I'm not counting on it.

I guess I will have to settle with N8 for a while. The bad photo quality of the Nokia Lumia 800 just turned me off completely:

16MP?!? So powderful? 12MP on N8 is still great but I hope to see this 16MP phone camera can take 16:9 photos.

Haha are you thinking the latest Apple ICLOUD app?  So far only ifon/ipod & ipad having this wifi sync lor..but all your files need to be externally store at apple server & you will be using icloud to auto sync via wifi for sure. But how many of us wanna store our files in foreign country & not your own PC?
*
No I'm not referring to iCloud, just normal direct wifi sync. If app like Dukto can easily establish connection to N8 for file transfer, I don't see why it should be difficult for Nokia to enable wifi sync. Beats the hassle of connecting cable.

Hmnn isn't it easier using BT file trf? If PC dun hv a BT dongle, just buy one super cheap at RM15-RM19 only haha  biggrin.gif
Problem with BT is the rate is slow. I sometime have about 50+MB photo to sync to PC, and I don't know if the N8's Bluetooth is fast enough.

With regards to usability, the iPhone 4S is the easiest phone to use with almost all of the changeable parameters on the camera controlled automatically by the OS. The user only has access to the flash and HDR settings. Even then, it is just to toggle these settings on and off.

The two Samsung Galaxy devices offer a wide range of user changeable settings and strike a good balance between ease of use and offering a high degree of manual controls to the user. These controls are easily and quickly accessible too. The same can be said for the Motorola RAZR but its settings parameters are not as extensive, though we’re not sure if playing around with the settings will make much of a difference considering the poor performance of the camera on the Motorola RAZR.

While accessing the camera settings in the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray is easy enough, we don’t like the “touch screen to take a picture” method used by the device. In the Xperia ray there is no on-screen shutter button, this is perhaps due to the small screen size. As a result, you take a picture by tapping on the screen. This is counter intuitive and almost the opposite of the other devices that we use because you usually tap the screen to focus and then tap the on-screen shutter button to take a picture. With the Xperia ray, even after using the device for quite some time, we still find ourselves accidentally taking a picture when all we wanted to do was to focus.

The worst among the lot is the Nokia N8. While the N8 offers a considerable amount of user customisable camera settings they are haphazardly located throughout camera interface making it almost pointless to even attempt to go into the settings to change anything. It is so frustrating that we usually don’t even bother changing anything on the Nokia N8 camera settings.

As much as I loved my N8, I find it hard to cope with my everyday usage. So I jumped ship to WP7 powered Dell Venue Pro, and loving it so far due to its awesome keyboard, plus a large touchscreen.
I already consider jump ship. I take many photos and having trouble uploading to the web from the N8. No Pixelpipe support, and the Nokia Facebook app is bad at uploading videos that sometime leaves your Facebook seem hanging.

Perhaps the most excruciating thing on using the N8 is the bad/slow browser. Opera does little to help.

Awesome probably because it has a faster processor than the N8. And I will never buy a fixed focus camera because i often take photos of document.

If not for the Nokia's GPS, I would very much want to jump ship already.

The 700 runs at 1GHz ARM11 + 512MB RAM.

The N8 runs at 680Mhz ARM11 + 256MB RAM.

Can already see why Belle is better on the 700.

the official belle will have lower quality image capturing compared to anna?

It does not make any logical sense on why image quality will be lowered. rclxub.gif
