How about

1. Disney's A Christmas Carol (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation [Blu-ray] (1989)

I watched the 'A Christmas Carol', surprising I find it really good. Apparently the film was made as close to Charles Dicken's mood and original atmosphere as possible, which at times, can be rather spooky.

I would give it a 8.5/10 for an animation story. And strongly recommend it to be viewed (I think small kids may not be suitable though).

Just place order for Criterion Collection's The Last Temptation of Christ, a film directed by Martin Scorsese.  How is it compare to Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ?

I haven't watch any of these film.

Martin's version is not strictly true to the biblical account of the event. So during the movie debut, it attracted lots of criticism from the churches, some picketted outside the cinema to call for boycott of the movie. I think you can google the movie itself.

The Passion is more true to the biblical account.

I have seen both movies, Martin's version from the cinema in Europe (it was banned in Malaysia), but not much memory as to the impact of the movie to me. Watched The Passion from DVD source though. And I feel that the Passion is more authentic, or at least they try to be.

It helps a great deal if you study a bit of the biblical history of the event before watching the film. Only then you will understand the significance of the film and its controversy.

Its very much like before you watch the Raiders of the Lost Ark, you may read a bit about the romance of the Holy Grail and its history. The very interesting knowledge of this historical artifact will make the Raider's film much interesting indeed.
