My salary is near 5 figure, but yet im driving an old vios 06. I also have another myvi 06. Finished the installment for both now. 2 years back my salary was around 3k+, and I only have the myvi that time. Paying 550 per month for a 7 year installment plan, there's not saving much left after deducting your petrol, expenses, epf, tax, food, drinks etc etc.

So for those that say 3k is the minimum to afford a 100k car, think again. Unless your car runs on water, and you eat sunlight for breakfast, moonlight for dinner, then yeah 3k salary can afford you a 100k car. You'll also be begging your friends to pay for your meal during yam char sessions

But then there are such ppl out there. I knew a guy who owns a 318i. He'll call friends out for yam char sessions and stuff. Then half-way, he'll pickup his phone and act like there's emergency and run-off by saying "sorry gtg emergency leh". The rest gotta pay for his meal
