Having had experience in retail for 2 over years and my sis who was great friends with a former senior staff at LV, Starhill: there are some truth to the rumors especially the price one.

Problem with Malaysia is the high tax and also, the management here wanna make good profit. In terms of sales, KL lag far far far behind Bangkok, Singapore and even Indonesia.

LV is doing good compared to others though. Other brands can't even open bill for weeks!

About the swapping with fakes; I've also heard it happen at Gucci. As for LV, not too sure but if you're worried, ask for the manager's or person in charge's opinion: troublesome but worth it for the money you spend on those bags!
