Hi all,

I tried to get some help from some users but they either don't respond or don't want to help me. I have a Sager NP8170 and i flashed it a few weeks ago with a Clevo P170HM bios (stupid me). I thought those bios files where the same but they where not. After i rebooted my windows 7 said i needed to activate my windows, after clicking on activate now it did not work. I contacted my supplier and he said i removed the SLIC 2.1 out of the bios and i flashed on my own risk. To fix this i need to have the SLIC 2.1 out of a current Sager bios and a certificate file to get it activated again.

1. Run the tool
2. Click on the basic tab and select save (slic 2.1 is this)
3. Click on the advance tab and select backup (certificate is this)
4. Upload all 2 files on www.mediafire.com and send by pm please!
*. Note that the .txt file is a oem-slp key ... i don't need it so please trash that file!!!


Please don't see this as warez or anything!, it try to fix my laptop by my self since my retailer is not next door and i refuse to pay for a recovery disc!


If someone will supply this i can give him a rapidshare account in return or some android games (paid ones).

Actually, mind if I ask why you refuse to pay for the recovery disc?

I mean, you flash the BIOS yourself, so you should bear the risk right?

out of curiousity.. how much is a recovery disc?

Frankly, you hv no choice but to get the recovery disc from your retailer.

Sorry mate, can't help you with it even though I own a NP8170. I bought the laptop without an OS. I installed my own pirated version (not meant to promote piracy here), so my bios is just as good as yours without a genuine windows. However, it's just my personal laptop (home user, doesn't have anything to do with business)
