Hi, I live in a condo..The compressor of my room's aircond is just located next to my bed, separated by the wall of course.
Is it true that it's hazardous to health for sleeping so near to the air cond compressor while it's operating?

Thanks.

No such thing. The compressor mainly make of mechanical metal parts and a inner motor. Nothing is generate out accept noise.

But I wonder how you sleep with so near the outdoor unit. Not noisy?

well, imagine my bedroom is just 10 feet x 10 feet, and there's a built in wardrobe next to door, so i got no other choice to put my queen size bed other than next to the window, which is also next to the air cond compressor...

is there any electromagnet field generated from air cond compressor?

Why not place your compressor far away?

The compressor is mainly mechanical parts and a motor as I said. No strong electromagnetic field generate.

You better worry more if you sleep beside your handphone. sad.gif

not that i don't want..but it's like that, done by previous owner...
it's a small room and i think the previous owner put a single bed there instead of queen size bed...

In terms of 'dangerous' magnetic fields, the compressor in the outer wall has less effect than your handphone in the same room as you as ozak has mentioned.

Unless you compressor is Magnetic-levitation, else why worry.

The more you service, louder the noise generate. Once all this parts dismantle, you can't assembly back as original. That is where the noise come. So when service better don't dismantle the outdoor unit. Just spray the chemical on the condenser and wash with water. That is how the outdoor unit design for easy wash.

I totally agree with the statement mentioned esp. it's done by lousy air conditioner technician. But I really hope tht I don't have to change the receiver drier thru the entire lifespan of the air conditioner. U don't change the receiver drier periodically?
