Ultimate comprasion between i9100 vs i9100G

Now u can decide for your own. For me (hardcore flasher) I will not even go near the "G" model. But, that's me. Not everyone is like me.

QUOTE(qqmeng @ Oct 30 2011, 12:42 PM)
guys... i m a new android user here n i hv managed to root my phone...(i m a previous iphone user)

3 questions here.

1) is there any spell check for android when i m typing messages?

2) if my data network mode is deactivated n when i m not in a wifi environment, will i still be able to receive "line" "whatsapp" messages? why theres no "E" (edge) shown?

3) any way to extend the batt's life?

any help?
*
1) Yes there is. Go to Settings -> Language and keyboard -> Samsung keypad -> XT9 (Ticked)

2) No, you wont be able to. If there is is no E / 3G / HSDPA indication, "LINE" & whatsapp wont function.
**Enable data (Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Network -> Use Packet data (ticked)
**If you dont have a data package its best to disable this function.

3) Tough question to answer. Get spare battery ? Carry a charger along with u / custom kernel + ROM ? Outcome = depends.

Anyone realize the ringtone/SMS notification/Email notification and volume (in call) is quite soft. Under settings all maximum already.

Any solution for this?

Soft! Its too loud for me. I could never put any of the volume to max. Try louder tones.

Currently using normal stock tones, will try some custom tones and report back if any changes.

Ringtone not really a problem after changing to a custom tone/stock tone I realize. Only the SMS/Whatsapp/Email and in call volume is bad sad.gif

Added on October 30, 2011, 5:24 pmAnyone know where I can download message ringtone ? I want the short ringtones, beeping sounds/short tones that is suitable for SMS/Whatsapp/EMAIL ?

I am most of times with clients so I dont loud songs when SMS/Email or Whatsapp notify me. The stock selection is soft and limited.

But, SGS-2 has a bigger screen. sad.gif

Me coming from an iPhone background. Started off with the first model of iphone2g and eventually upgraded to the others. I got fade up with the restriction on iPhone and the jailbreaking process + frequent problems with the iOS.

Decided to go Android. Flexibility is given. Plenty of ROM & custom kernels to choose from.

I can access my SD card and phone memory when ever I want to. I can upgrade the SD card when ever I want to. I can replace my battery when its faulty, I can even carry a spare battery with me when travelling. No issues on coverage signal strength. No need to rely on iTunes.

End of the day its individual preference.

Plus a slim figure. Won't be bulky even if you put a casing on it. Just get sgs2 if you want bigger screen. You won't regret it. If got anything wrong you can always claim warranty. Its my first Android n smartphone and I'm glad I bough it thumbup.gif

+1 rclxms.gif
