If standing outside under the sky still cannot gps lock then there is a problem. Indoors really depend on how far r u from the window haha.
*
exactly... standing outside under the clear sky still can't get even 1 satellite.. by the way, Asus Malaysia support team is lack of knowledge... they call me up and said the GPS cannot work because Prime doesn't have place for SIMCARD .......... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

They memang dun have knowledge. Last i call in due to the reboot issue they were not aware of the problem and asked me to bring it in.  Confirm waste my time bring the TP to their service centre.

Can u try locking onto the gps with wifi?
*
I can use google map and got my location using WIFI if that is what you meant. But GPS test show 0 satellite...

erm... agree, worst case is they will just ask you send to service center before they try hard to support you  vmad.gif

Received call from Asus again and they still claim my pad is 100% normal.. and they insist the GPS will only work with internet connectivity.... vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

It's true though, GPS on most Primes won't work without internet connectivity. So far on this forum not many can actually say they can get a lock-on to a satellite without turning on their wifi connection.
*
no.. you may have confuse between Google map lock-on and GPS signal I meant here. If I need to load a map or get a direction, of cause I need a connection, but if I just need GPS signal, is ridiculous if connection is needed right?

although it might be true that you have to turn on wifi to use the gps, but you are supposed to be able to use the gps without the wifi turned on as well.  although Asus has removed the GPS function in their specs list, but when we bought it, it was written there 'GPS', so we are supposed to get GPS! >:(

CORRECT!!! mad.gif <--- is this smiley saying "POONIAHMO"?? mad.gif mad.gif to ASUS.

Nope, is not. A-GPS is ...
CODE
Assisted GPS, generally abbreviated as A-GPS or aGPS, is a system which can, under certain conditions, improve the startup performance, or time-to-first-fix (TTFF) of a GPS satellite-based positioning system. It is used extensively with GPS-capable cellular phones as its development was accelerated by the U.S. FCC's 911 mandate making the location of a cell phone available to emergency call dispatchers.[1]

Have you try garage sales in lowyat?? If you can't wait, there is some seller are selling abit higher price. I got mine within 5 hours after contact to seller, got it for rm2150, rm50 more than those pre-order deal. I dislike pre-order deal though..
