Just received my 32GB grey prime. Updated to the latest firmware, charging and playing with it now. Extremely disappointed with the wifi and GPS performance.

For Wifi, I was able to get full bar with my transformer, but only 2/4 bars with the prime. Haven't tested the exact speed yet.

For GPS (indoor), I put it side by side with my phone, my phone was able to detect a row of satellites in less than 15 seconds with GPSTest, while the prime was still searching for signals after 3 minutes.

I am seriously considering if I should return it. 

Update: Ran speedtest on both my phone, PC and prime all with Wifi, results looked comparable. So I guess my only concern now is the GPS performance.

This prime is so much smoother to navigate and use compared to the transformer. I played a few 1080p videos from Youtube and see no lag at all. The screen is bright and clear, and yeah the super IPS mode for outdoor viewing.

And of course it is lighter and sexier too. 

Fun how everybody looks at it differently.

I need it for pleasure mainly. Watching movies and such. On the couch I will use it for reading/browsing and checking email. I do not expect to do real business on it. It is mainly for consuming instead of producing. Perhaps it will be different in the near future with w8. But now with Android I don't have high expectations. I don't care about GPS, I don't care about games, I don't care about 3G.

All that will probably be there when I buy the better tab in a year orso. If you guys are hoping to use this item for many years; then you better wait for the one which has all the features. Right now I settle for media in HD, smooth browsing/viewing and WIFI.

I will be a happy camper. I was notified I could pick up the Prime next week in Spore. Lucky me, I had already planned a trip there that week...couldn't be more lucky (so it seems, will be enthusiastic when I have the device in my hands ).

since you comparing those, then maybe i can add my 'opinion' too

1. kindle fire can do outdoor reading for me
2. gaming with psp
3. get cheaper acer netbook rather than tablet
4. get HP touchpad and load it with custom ICS firmware..

so how about that?

they have but im in Australia,not US
if only they have international shipping option

anyway,i can easily change my shipping address to malaysia but issue is the tax and sirim thing.not sure they will tax it or not.is so troublesome for me

u can go and update via OTA.no harm

hi im just wondering is this transformer works same/perfectly as other laptop? so it can do all the stuff like office, photoshop, illustrator, install program like flying spaghetti monster, rocketdock etc

i using ADW EX launcher + multilpicture live wallpaper

- Launcher - ADW EX launcher - Version 1.3.3.56 (can support tablet)
- additional apps to make the wallpaper change from screen to screen - multilive wallpaper (this apps will not work in stock launcher, the wallpaper will not align)
- use minimalistic text to make those wordings..
- align those wordings your self.. font size.. font etc.. all can set in minimalistic text.
- good ting about minimalistic text is u can make those words "on tap" launch application.

- use my screen as example:
- the Camera word.. i tap on it.. will launch the camera application
- the Music word .. i tap on it.. will launch the music player..
and so on..

- hope u can understand ..
as far as i know.. when Prime lauch...
others place out of stock liao.. left them.. they mark up price.. and den added goodies.. such as stylus.. etc etc tinggie..
