Sorry hijack your thread
Planing to buy kawasaki 150@250.If buy kawa 150 will get new and if buy 250 will get 2nd.Is buying 2nd 250 worth than buying new 150?
I use bike since form 5 so no problem in handling bike.Recently also use my fren Naza Blade 250 naked no much problem. When using his naza i really like when u speed the bike still maintain steady not like moped.Previously i own EX5,Yamaha 100 and my last Yamaha 135LC.
The only concern now is maintance, insurance and road tax.Big dif in maintaining 250 than 150?And how much is the insurance and roadtax for both?
Get the ZX150. Go to hell with the second hand Ninja 250. Superbike like maintenance with the power of the ZX150. U want that? Let me give you a rought figure :
Engine oil change :
ZX15- 1 litre EO/Gearbox oil : RM30, 1 litre of 2t oil (I recommend Penzoil Marine, RM19) usually good for around 900km on stock setting.
ZX25- 2 litre EO + oil filter : RM100+ (assuming you want the best quality EO for your bike)
Tire/Tyre/Rubber :
ZX15- Best quality leper tire you can get RM600 front rear
ZX25- Best quality leper tire you can get RM1000 front rear
Periodic Maintenance :
ZX15- Clean the power valve RM30, 1 piece spark plug RM10
ZX25- Adjust valve clearance RM?? (usually around RM100 as it involve lot of work), top overhoul when needed RM?? (top overhaul for a normal LC135 is around RM200) 2 piece of spark plug RM50
Oh my..my engine f***ed up.. :
ZX15 : Engine block + piston RM700 (i got this price few years back, its surely to be cheaper now).
ZX25- Not sure but expect it to be RM1000 above for the block set
Oh dang!!! I crashed my bike!!!
ZX15- RM1.5K enough for whole coverset change
ZX25- not sure. But crashing a 250cc bike that double the cost of a 150cc that have the same amount of power?
Yessss...Its Sunday!!! Lets try it out on the hills!!
ZX15- Small, nimble, light, plenty of power to pull it through
ZX25- inline two engine not designed to have power at lower RPM, hence climbing hills will make it harder, need to really push it
Highhhhhwayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ZX15- Enough power to maintain with us 600cc bike doing 160kmj
ZX25- Enough power to maintain with us 600cc bike doing 160kmj.
Anyway, those people who say a 2stroker cant keep up in long distance ride have simply never own a ZX150 before.

victory!victory!victory!
took my blue iron horse for a spin, actually 2.
opened choke max, no throttle.
took to the internal roads around flat.
at the first turning realized that my rear mirrors were lookin at the sky, just turned, too late to think, luckily no car behind me...
stopped, adjusted mirror, round 2.
i had some problems bringing the feller to neutral from 1st gear, but finally learnt to get that soft 'touch'.
now time to go buy a nice long plank to practise the 'titi' - after overcoming titi, need to go get the jaguh/virago around the track at driving school, that's next step.
listening to '99 problems' by jay z in celebration...
where do u live? tell me if u want me to help you train.
