hello, i plan to buy the M3 over Inspira after several consideration. Basically, I like the looks of M3. I think after 5-7 yrs, it will still look sporty smile.gif

Too bad, no manual, as i've been driving manual since day 1.

i have a few Qs before I make the booking M3 1.6 Sedan:

1. what is the height clearance? it looks low. will high bump scratch the low skirting? or what kind of bump i need to be aware of?

2. RON 95 can be used? What brand is good for long maintenance?

3. What kind of anti theft you guys put? i was thinking of black jack-5. but will it void any warranty? can recommend place and price? i stay in PJ

4. any good steering lock is good for deterrent purposes?

5. hehe - the car stereo can play MP3 pasar malam CD as looks like cannot pull out and change other CD players

6. do u install the wheel nut in each tyre to avoid theif from stealing the wheels?

7. how is the fuel consumption in city and h/way (ie. KL to IPOH drive) cos only 4 "gears", thot 5 gears can save petrol

thanks!!!

Hello, I'd appreciate if some of you can advise me what kind of anti-theft system you placed in your M3?

I was thinking of Black Jack 5, but seem that will void warranty.

Or you guys think the Immobolizer on key is good enough?

Brake lock? Steering locks?

Thks!!!

1. Brake lock get from GS?? Who, where and what does GS stands for?

2. Yes, Jap cars price will go up due to Yen$ currency will go up next year. Moreover, there are also no/few stocks from Jap cars. Low supply-high demand-price increase

3. So, u guys don't install any additional car alarm like Black Jack? The M3 ori immo & alarm in good enough? Unlike Proton? right? sad.gif

4. which RON 95 brand u guys suggest?

i'll be getting M3 1.6L next week.

1. what RON95 should i pump in? Esso? Caltex?...i read BHP and Shell not so good? true?

2. as for the battery, it's not the maintenance free type. meaning need to add those battery water. is it true that for new cars - no need to add battery water for 2-3 years? i do no like to add these battery water cos i cannot see the level. my previous 2 cars...add battery water until over flows and when drive, it "spits" out and the "acid" battery water corroded the metal parts below the battery.

3. i saw some nice front/back skirting
a. where to get?
b. how much?
c. design for M3?
d. won't scratch when going over bumps? now, to me M3 looks quite low already

pls advise.

Hi bro,

You can get the skirts:
a) Sri Ardin. Search on facebook. . I got mine from him wink.gif
b) The price is Rm980 for the whole car without installation
c) Yes it's designed for M3. Sedan and Hatchback have different designs
d) It will scratch when going over super high bumps. It helps if you are just driving alone. If you have more passengers on your car, then the possibility of scratching is higher. Just go slow on bumps and you should be to avoid scratching most of them. When going over really high bumps, then no choice la... who ask you to like your car looks hot tongue.gif

Actually the car already looks nice, why wanna to kacau it smile.gif and cause more headache smile.gif
Anyway, thks for the info.

BTW, anyone can advise the other questions posted?

Thanks!!!

Dear sifus,

I'm on the verge of getting a Mazda 3 2.0 CBU July 2009 model, with mileage abt 40k km.

If the car is well maintained so far, i.e: service on time, etc;

may i check:

What to expect from such 2.5 years car?

1) Especially, In terms of the things/parts/cost to be replaced due to tear n wear.

2) Anything in specific for a M3 2.0 CBU to look out for in respect of item 1)?
*
I think it's no use asking here as most of owners here talk about modification...... smile.gif

I'd suggest you get a car foreman/mechanic to inspect the car to check for any issues.

If there are issues and u really like the car, get more discount from the seller since u tell him u need to put in money to get those issues fixed.

Seems Mazda 3 has quite a lot of noise defects.

After driving for 1 week+, I notice:

1. constant click-click sound at the front of driver seat
2. intermittent - have sound (click-clak) at the back when first time move
3. intermittent - have sound when I make a turn
4. intermittent - have sound when go over bump
5. constant loud click when the driver's power window is closing

sure SC know how to fix cos i read in the post seems SC have no idea!

Hi dahool00,

1. Sometimes i also experience the click-click sound at the front. Mine is coming from the sunglasses compartment (at first i thought it was from dashboard... lucky it's not)... Whenever the sound appear, just hold softly on the compartment and no more sound la... =.=
Not sure should ask them to check it or not... later they dismantle this and that... causing more sound...

other sound, not notice...
*
Thanks for your kind feedback.

Will still ask them to check and I will take note of those compartment - as it does sound from inside...hmm not too sure.

Hello, i've got my M3 1.6L in Dec 2011. There was a front knocking sound (heard on 2nd day), followed by rear knocking sound (heard on 30th day). I left my car at SC for (?) no of days days and.....will let you guys know how and what they fixed. To be confirmed 100% fixed i need to test it again.

The knocking sound seems or found to be between two metals knocking each other and the front knocks appear after car driven for a while (ie - engine becomes hot) or after in hot sun where metal expands. Back sound is very constant esp on uneven roads.

Will also tell u what happened during these fixes.

Stay tune.

anyway, do u all know those lines behind the rear windscreen are a set of demister and the other set serves as radio antenna (upper part of windscreen)

wondering to tint the car cos might damage these lines in near future.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but if u have not bought Mazda 3, please think thrice. I can safely say that the CKD production in M'sia is pretty->very bad. Hence, u get tick-tick, knocking sound either now or some time later.

Other matters - when I was at the S.Center, the technician gave a "hint" that Mazda 3's gear box will evetually give way. He added - if possible, before your 3 yrs warranty end, go and ........ (fill in the box) the gear box.

Try to test the gear box - (1) make a u turn or (2) go over a hump - as u slowly do the (1) or (2) (ie. you should be in gear 1), rev your engine to go into gear 2 - u will hear a loud dragging sound in front of engine on the left hand side - bottom. Try several times. Some M3 will hear this when u go from gear 2 to 3 or 3 to 4.

Technician told me that this is not the 1st time customer complain when I let him hear the noise. He added that he has heard louder dragging noise.
