All Bros and Sis,

I am proud to say that I am a future Mazdarian. Should be able to register my car next week.... (so get more cars registered in Selangor)... smile.gif

I will be getting the Aluminium Mica....

Here is the big question.... i am supposed to get 6MIL tint as advised by the SA... and I believe this will be installed in GS... The only concern is the brand that they are offering... It is branded as JP... I have not heard it before but the cost is RM1800... If the brand sucks... then I would rather use about the same amouont of money and pay for 3M or Llumar...

Any opinions??

Thanks

You mean you gonna pay RM1800 for the 6mil tint by "JP"? Have you check the tint quality? If its good in IRR then is quite worth it wink.gif like 97% If lesser then 80% sound like a big rip off

Don't have to listen to the SA, sounds like you're being ripped off. Maybe the SA gets a certain commission if he manages to convince you to get it done. Just get it done outside by a trusted tinting shop can d.

I can bet you that once you refused the SA will tell you don't go outside tint la, later warranty void la, outside ppl don't know how to tint Mazda cars one la.. sure got a lot of grandfather stories one

if tinted is done through the mazda company, or tinted shop is affiliated with the mazda company then u may not get cheated, just the cost is quite high >.<
but frankly speaking, i've never heard of JP tinted..probably u should check it out in person to know about it first before doing anything further.
SA in full is Service Advisor...they are there to assist u and advice u on the steps..
some u can trust
some, it's up to u to trust
no point shooting them as they also got family to feed..
also, it is true, do tinted or not also, besides telling u the do and donts...SA will also tell u to keep an eye on the workmanship of any tinted shop if u're proceeding with friend's tinted shop or whatever that is not advised by the SA..if anything happens like the workers use flat head screwdriver to remove ur door panel or those finishing, scratches bla bla will happen if not carefully done..or if any soap water or whatsoever drips and wets the wiring and so on..usually this is called poor workmanship...it's ur responsibility already..not the SA... thus don't blame anyone but urself for not being there to supervised...

Unless you must want security tint, i personally find at that kind of price range, you should give 3M Crystaline a try. ..
I installed 3M crystaline in my M3 and personally find it is much better than vkool & rikecool in my previous car.

To all... thanks for the advice... i am going to check with my sales person and decide if i want to take with him or not... need to understand more whether the brand he is using is worth it or not...

Added on April 11, 2012, 5:43 pmIf I use the stock HU... how do I connect my iPod - using the Aux cable?? Would i need to use the iPod controls instead of the HU to control all the tracks volume etc or would i be able to use the HU controls?

Depends on which stock HU you are referring to. If it's the CASKA/FlyAudio HU, then you can just plug your iPod to the charging cable, usually hidden in the glovebox. Then you can control your iPod through the HU's touch screen system.

If your stock HU is just the 2-Din CD/MP3 Player, you'll have to connect an AUX cable to the iPod, and control the songs/volumes/etc from the iPod itself.

That is what I was afraid of.... unfortunately mine is the 2-Din CD/MP3 Player. must look at upgrading already... hehehehe

Hi guys... If I add the Auto Brake Trigger Lock (since the M3 2.0 does not come with it)... would it void the warranty? Does it make a difference if I do it in GS or not???

Bro, I am not sure if this has already been asked... i see a lot of OEM PNP HU for Mazda 3... in fact, i was at an accessory shop the other day, and saw him selling it. Does this void the warranty even if it is PNP?

This is a very subjective question bro.. People from Mazda will tell you it will void warranty no matter it is PNP or not.... people from accessories shop will tell you as long as there's no wire cutting then it won't void the warranty...technically speaking, it is true... no wire cutting should not void warranty what..... Some Mazda staffs might close one eye, some might give you all kind of bullocks.. picking things to claim your warranty is voided.

Hmmm... good point.... Must cari a lawyer friend to read the warranty coverage and let me know... hehehhehehe... Thanks bro.

Dear all,

I got the Auto Trigger lock installed when I received my new car, but weird thing is it is only triggered when the Driver seat belt is not yet fastened. If the driver seat belt already fastened, you can press the brake many times oso it won't lock. So my question is... is this programmable somehow using my current device or is it something that I will need to change totally if I want it to lock everytime I brake?

Also, does anyone know where I can get those LED scuff plates? and is it a DIY thing or must go to somewhere to install?

Thanks

All,

Are you guys hearing a rattling sound coming from the front passenger side and back seats? I think it is the headrest that is making the noise cause it is loose. Anyone faced this before and know what is the problem?

Hey guys, newbie here and so glad to find this thread in LYN. Planning to go zoom zoom with M3 in near future, having some doubts over the caska HU and hope you guys can chip in some opinions,

1. Those who installed the caska HU, how was the sound quality compared to stock HU?

2. With caska HU installed, is the iPod port in center console still working?

3. The stock iPod port in center console is using a 3.5mm jack/aux in or it's a iPod connection port same as  their charger which plug in the bottom?

4. Any of you guys installed an iPod integration kit to your M3?

I was with Alpine 9887, from my experience USB/aux in and alpine iPod integration cable has a big difference in sound quality in term of dynamic and details. Although most of the time I listen to cd, but sometimes friends complain the music is boring and iPod is a good alternative for them.

Don't get me wrong, I won't be giving up a M3 due to an iPod port (sounds silly huh) just wanna know what's the upgrade availability out there. I'm quite into audiophile, sooner or later will sure backside itchy upgrade the whole system but not the time right after getting the car, that will burn a huge hole in my pocket. Need some opinions from sifus here, thanks!

Bro,

Here is my experience.... I did not take the audio option and now I am very happy I didn't thumbup.gif rclxm9.gif . I have a colleague who has the M3 Hatch and took the HU option. Here are some of the complaints my colleague has mentioned...
1) the iPod cable is located inside the glove compartment... (not sure if different installers would put it in different place in the car)
2) everytime he starts the car, the iPod won't read and he has to switch to radio and then to iPod to work
3) The ipod always plays from the first song in the playlist instead of continuing from the last heard song
4) GPS is not accurate. Not sure if this is becasue the software needs an update (also not sure what service - PAPAGO or others)

I am using the AUX cable for my M3 and am very happy with the sound. The only bad part is if I want to operate (i.e. change tracks or playlist), i will need to look at the iPod and can't use the steering controls. But the controls for the sound work just fine. If you want the AUX cable, I can recommend the LYN seller that I bought the cable from. It is of good quality and gives me clear sound.

Since you are an audiophile, I would suggest you save your money and take the standard HU and change it later to a better 2-din unit later with full amps, woofers, etc.

This is my 2sen opinion.
