Bro,

Let KK Lau do the doors. Trust me, the doors are the one that will give you the most results (cut down the road noise most) and really make you happy.

As for the pricing, it should be less than RM110 per piece of Dynamat Extreme x 8 mats (2 for each doors) plus maybe another hundred for the insulation material.. Like I share before, the doors are the hardest to open and double layer the Dynamat + Insulation material. I do not know your background here, but if you know how to open the doors and do it, go right ahead (you still also need the insulation material). But if this is your 1st time opeing door panels, just don't. There are wires, the doors are double paneled and you even got to hold up your side windows using tape when removing your door panels.

Btw, forumers here that are interested in soundproofing our Mazda 3, another M3 hatchback driver, myself and other soundproofing enthuist are comparing and discussing on the best ways of soundproofing (KL Auto vs KK Lau methods, products and cost). We will also be doing a drive test comparison hopefully end of Sept. LOL... I think the KL Auto owner is pissed with me. Please read the following link in autoworld if you are interested in soundproofing:-

Thanks bro. I'm really a car enthusiast. I overhaul my Datsun engine last time. So i guess it's not too hard for me. It's a matter time & effort. One last request, if you have pictures, can you share some? So curious to take a look at it.
Actually i don't mind to let KK Lau do the doors for me, jt that i'm in penang, lazy to go down KL again.

Regarding, the KL Auto, what is there to piss? we are stating the truth. To share another experience of mine, he charged me RM200 jt to reverse my front left speaker's polarity... and by doing so f**ked up my sound system. He was so freaking secretive about it as it marketed under Voodoo service.
KK Lau immediately knew what went wrong even though i didnt share the info with him at all. Now KK Lau added 2 modules each for front and back speakers and its working like magic. Hearing is believing. Amazing sound (clarity and bass) for ori headunit & speakers.
Again, i totally agree with you, KL Auto can talk really good but delivering is a completely different matter....

Sigghhhh...while I was driving my M3 juz now, suddenly I heard a loud sound and follow by some screeching sound while the car is moving. Then, I quickly stop by the side and see that there's a like a metal rod (dunno the length measurements, around the length from our wrist to elbow, diameter roughly the size of our thumb) piercing thru my side skirting (driver side)...i dunno where it came from and it needed some pulling to get the metal rod out..now my side skirting has a hole underneath the car...now i'm just worried is there any possiblities that this metal rod come from my car or juz lying on the road..if lying on the road, i juz cant imagine how can it pierce thru my side skirting underneath the car (it's not 90 deg pierce thru roughly diagonal of about 60 deg)...and im worried that there's more dmg to it then juz a hole underneath..anyone with good experiences with cars can advice on this?

I plan to take my car to Mazda SC to assess the dmg...maybe considering replacing the side skirting..anyone has any idea how much one side of the side skirting cost? Do u guys know anyway that I can claim it under warranty? Really frustrated and sad...my M3 is only 2 months+ old..very unlucky..thanks in advance for any advice...

To all sifus,

I've been following this thread for quite sometime d. Really interested with the M3. Unfortunately, after several complaints from the forumer's here about the road noise, its quite hard for me to make a decision. How loud the road noise can be? (expecting a better driving experience when upgrading the car smile.gif )

To be fair, i've never owned any imported car before (currently only myvi T_T). So i would like to know compared to other national car (Gen2, Waja etc) how loud the noise can be? i think i can tolerate if the noise produced by M3 is same as our national car. Hope that u can gimme some feedback regarding the issue. Cheers ^^V

the road noise, basically i think is from the tyres. see anyone who has change their tyres to a better ones, then give comments lo.
i drive wira before. and M3 NVH is much better than wira.
the reason i say the tyre is noisy becoz, at some point of the road (i use to go work), it is quiet. but mostly is noisy.. hahaha. must be the sand grain they use on the road is finer on that particular section.

Where this sound comes from? I used to hear mine from bonnet. Self diagnosed that its due to the tool kit clashing

my wife got myvi and i oso drive my dad's waja... noise wise, m3 stock tyre is a bit noisier during high speed, but for low speed, much quieter than myvi/waja...

i oso plan to change my stock tyre to better brand... wait till my stock dunlop tyre wear off laa... other than that, driving pleasure is way better in M3 (i drive 2.0 btw)...

GY A2 is dream rubber, but too expensive i think, how about GY D5?

Also consider other korean made rubber but not sure the ok or not... i.e kumho/hankook/nankang --> korean made is it?
