the best thing to do i believe is to just to do cod. until the seller has built enough reputation then can go post or whatever.

i agree with the submitting of ic thing can backfire. any tom, d*** or harry cld just take another tom, d*** or harry's ic and use it as their own.

i think the only way can rate a person is by doing cod a first then judge the book by its cover

K then, forget bout my previous idea...y not make COD a must for ppl below a certain number of post/reputation/recomendation from other ppl, then only sellers wif the required credentials will be able 2 post their items 2 other states/country in deals. Conclusion,COD is a muz for newbies....

thats a sound idea. the only problem is, how bout ppl from different states? it will sort of limit the potential buyers no?

but i guess that's the price you have to pay for safety

Newbie sellers from other states can have their deals verified by established sellers at their states or even established sellers can do COD for their buyers, but this would involve 3 parties, then a bit troublesome...

you're still not thinking about your ideas through enough

how are u gonna make it a must for those ppl?
they are free to post up anything they like in their sales thread, and even if they put COD only, if someone PMs him and the seller suggests posting instead, how are we gonna stop that, or even know about it going on?

if its going by reputation, then if a new and honest member staying in a place where not many ppl are, how is he gonna have his first transaction to build his rep?
he cant COD at that place cause no one else is there
if it goes by number of posts, i think we learnt well enough that post counts means nothing

especially for me... i dun post much but i have made a successful transaction..... so how can you say i am not trustworthy when in fact i am..... so it is difficult for you guys to say who is and who isnt.......

especially noob.... how are you going to verify by how much they have posted??? i dun think so... i jus wanna sell my phone that is why i find places to post so i am able to tell more ppl bout it... so i find few sites to post.... since this is new place... which means new ppl to target my sales.... jus because he is noob like me... you have no right to say that he is a conman... and in reality..if you do that... you are sued for lible..... so dun say that so easily......

i think all there is to do is.. you have to find someway to verify that person if he is doing by post... if COD no problem with it.... You think seller also not scared a if the person dun pay you money and you have given the goods or posted it.... that is why i only deal COD and no other... not even by western union.... how bout the buyer last minute dun wan the goods... that is much worst... you are stuck with that good that you have got.... let say you are buying it and then sellig it.... and you dun really need that goods..... i would have to double confirm and triple confirm that he is really getting it... then only i get the goods.... because wat happens he changed his mind.... still the same problem....

so how are you going to rate buyers who are true buyers who meet the end of their contract.... you cant especially you dunno who you are dealing with....

i cant think of a solution for now... but i am jus voicing out my suggestion on what is the cons...

some times victims are just users without common sense. really.

be wise when do trading. if a deal is too good to be true, why believe it? smile.gif usually the victim will be the BUYER.

1. if uncertain - do COD and check the goods before handing the cash.
2. if the person also certified Safe Trader - you have an assurance at least, that the trader is a respectable one.

i find that by following the above 2 points is already enough to safe guard a buyer. at least, that's the principle i use for trading here.
*
im agree with this.. for me safetrader tag is quite enough already..

but the idea is good.. the problem is.. conducting a safetrader tag is hard already (look at the safetrader application thread), and this point system?? maybe u need a few staff just to monitor the system..

by the way good luck.. keep this thing up..

i've been wondering, what was your plan in the first place?

gather ppl's oppinion....then...?
as u can see, most ppl have stopped bothering about this (other than me creating a little trouble), so this is about all the oppinions you'll be getting
the next step in your plan will be?
