i think once seller/buyer ffk.... delist him as untrustworthy seller/buyer.... n anyone wants to deal with him is forewarned...

late delivery then... we have to put a code that he has a history of late delivery before....

come late i think is too minute to be on the point system....

if its an individual seller i dun think there is the system of after sales... esp it they dun have a shop....
This comes together with the description of the phone... it must be made known of the condition of the phone.... if it is different as mentioned then i think he also should be delisted as untrustworthy seller... or as history of being so... and buyer is forewarned....

since there is this history... i think ppl will be cautious to deal with them... and if they want to deal with them then they will bear watever consequence....

if seller want to change the history they have to get more than 3 votes or members so call consent to remove him off that untrustworthy list....

ME.....
Successful transaction hve been made yesterday with trickflip.....

OK what i hav in mind now is that this RATING thread is specially for the Handphone & Related Accessories Section of the Garage Sale.
It is not that easy to monitor the whole garage sale section.
More over i am most active in this section. More or less i know who the jokers and real dealers are.
Many of you can testify to what i meant. A lot of you guys hav deal wif me b4.
So keep your good suggestions coming.
Next Week i will submit all your recomendations to The Moderator.
Thanks

so you're saying that use this thread as the rating thingy is it?

if thats the case, then it wld be cool biggrin.gif but only one problem though..newbies hardly look at the pinned threads..they tend to glance through them..at least thats what i feel tongue.gif

but it wld be good to have it on this thread. on the first page. like a quick info on who is good and who is not. with a link to the succesful trade list biggrin.gif

two thumbs up for digilife thumbup.gif

some times victims are just users without common sense. really.

be wise when do trading. if a deal is too good to be true, why believe it? smile.gif usually the victim will be the BUYER.

1. if uncertain - do COD and check the goods before handing the cash.
2. if the person also certified Safe Trader - you have an assurance at least, that the trader is a respectable one.

i find that by following the above 2 points is already enough to safe guard a buyer. at least, that's the principle i use for trading here.

If you want to maintain a rating system for all the transactions for all sellers and buyers, you need a dedicated person to monitor and do that. Not only he has to maintain the records for each transaction, but he also has to verify that the ratings given by the buyer and the seller are fair.

Sometimes even the buyer or the seller will disagree with the rate given by the other party. If there is any disgreement, messages and flame will be flying around and more often than not, the disagreement will never resolved peacefully.

I am a newbie here. For reasons unknown, my status says 'Posts = 0' even though I post at least once a day. And I do have transactions with 'regular posters' in this forum who FFK me, by reserving some numbers but never buy it. It hurts as I am losing on selling to serious buyers. So, even some of the 'regular posters' in this forum also can not be trusted.

I guess the onus is on the buyer to do the transaction COD if the seller is a newbie. Ask questions to ensure items sold are in good condition. Ask for list of any trades done in the past for the buyer to contact and ask about the seller.

Too bad if the seller is a newbie but want to sell someting, it will be quite difficult to make any sales.

Having said all that, isn't it the aim of this 'Garage Sales' forum to have more seller and buyers to visit this forum? I the aim is to attract more people to visit, then, it should be less restrictive as possible , so that it is easy for newbie (both buyer and seller) to participate.

I think there is already several threads which provide info/list of good sellers/buyers and those bad sellers/buyers. I suggest that all newbies to read the thread before commiting to any trade, like I did. For me, it is my money and I need to be extra careful.

So in conclusion :
1) To maintain the system will need a tediuos work from the moderator.
2) There are already several threads on good and bad buyers/sellers, which is informally a ranking system, but with no ranking points given.
3) All newbies to refer be extra careful when buying/selling online. Check if there have been any previous trade and contact the other party for references.

Mat: FYI your posts at Garage Sale does not increase post counts.

I tend to conclude with Mat that maintaining a system is tediuos and time consuming work. And what if some conman create several nicks and give himself/herself good ratings?

Not only there is are several threads on/good bad seller, the active/genuine traders in this forum usually have a "Successfull Trade List" or Link in their signature which i feel gives the buyer/seller some background info or reference.

What digilife proposed is good as recently there are many ppl with 0 posting selling stuffs here (some from lelong if may add). A rating system will give forumers some "guideline", however if there is a dispute how does one give a fair overall rating?

Like most ppl here said, to avoid fraud do COD transaction. I have sold three of my old phones (1 of them to digilife smile.gif ) and bought my Z800i through this forum and all COD where the buyer/seller can check out the phone and satisfy themself before paying.

i agree , but some conman get ohter peoples ic to you then also useless lor !!

actually lyn is a forum , not a sell / buy web , so we cant do like what lelong is doing , like "safe Trade" and Verfied member. what to do the safest way is making verify seller and giving rating from buyer . rating is good way !!! thanks my taikor digilife for doing this , i think this is start from my case. issit ??

also my rm0.002
