Deposit in any of these three promos now and come next month HSBC got offer 8.88% for 1 year, we all loose out, but the one having his FD maturing next month will be laughing at us, hahaha.

Bank Rakyat is actually a profitable bank... well, or so reported. The high interest rate is not the best thing about Bank Rakyat. If you managed to buy the Bank Rakyat fixed price share a few years ago, then you'll be very happy as they have been consistently giving out 20% of dividend in the past few years. No joke! This is even better than the government backed Amanah Saham Bumiputra (ASB)

hey guys, is it better to put 1 month maturity with 2.9% or to put 4% for 9 months (OCBC)? if i put 1 month maturity and get 2.9% out of it, what if i put it every month? surely will earn more than 4% itself?

Based on the SMS, the 4%FD is for priorty banking customer only.

Is not about being convinced or not but now with your explanation I can now confidently debate with the customer service guy on your facts.

I have been reading about the many versions those OCBC officers give even for the Premier banking promotion so I was very confused. Because of that, I initially ignored OCBC & went ahead with UOB's 3.75% 12 months FD.

- CIMB is asking for RM1 Million.
- HSBC MY doesn't offer Private Banking service in Malaysia, citing strict BNM rules and regulations make the unit unprofitable. In countries where HSBC does offer Private Banking service such as Hong Kong, Singapore, UK etc., the minimum deposit required is different. HSBC SG for instance, is asking for USD1 Million.
- UOB SG and DBS SG are asking for SGD5 Million.
- Credit Suisse SG is asking for USD2 Million but they have been rejecting new account opening with just USD2 Million since sometime last year as they are now targeting those ultra high net worth customers with USD15 - USD20 Million.

Lottery also not enough.
Some private banking need USD1 million.
Lottery only 3 millions if without jackpot, RM 3 millions still a little bit shy from USD 1 million. 

Many people here are not eligible though.
