currently what's the best FIXED rate

for deposit amount of >70k for the duration of 6 months to 12 months

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jan 29 2012, 10:18 PM)

Please always check out the main page for FD promo update:

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2070535

For 6 months to 24 months tenure, I would say the beat deal is Kuwait Finance House, 4% rate,
they will pay you full interest in around one week after you make the FD placement with them.

Or you can consider OCBC, 4% rate for 1 year term, or 3.8% for 9 months term

If you have 1 million, you can go for HSBC Amanah (for new Premier account), the average FD rate
is *4.965% for 3 months term. This HSBC FD promo will end on 29 Feb 2012.

*(6.88% + 3.05% Islamic) = 9.93% / 2 = 4.965%
*
Full interest after one week?

what's the catch?

also what's the so called 'hassle' about KFH

so far everyone is talking about OCBC 4% rate

KFH 4%, OCBC 4% and Bank Rakyat 4.01%

i really am clueless... so many options here.

are these figures all FIXED?

Please read previous posts. This matter was discussed earlier. The point is for Islamic FD/Investment, the banks cannot tell you it is guaranteed.

To ALL: Alliance bank also offering 3.6% for 3 months FD Min RM10K. Updated first post, now waiting for tomorrow and see if UOB comes out with new promo.

Received info that UOB FD Promo for 3 months and 9 months placement only extended till March 2012. But 3.75% for 12 months no longer offered.
