Rates
Credit Balance Interest Rate
RM2000 to RM50,000 2.10%p.a
Above RM50,000 2.30%p.a

Is the M2U Saver interest calculated daily? I've an existing MBB a/c. How to standardize both or I've to close the other one? Many transactions need to be transferred, eg. few auto-debit transactions.
*
The M2U Saver is online-only Savings account, in which you still need a normal CASA account to be tied to.
M2U Savers-i is better account with interest calculation from RM1 onwards.

QUOTE(magika @ May 16 2012, 10:19 AM)
Just for info.

Generally, I deposit into FDS using Bank Draft or Cheques. However, I encounter a stupid mistakes today which I would like to share.

The recent delay in Sukuk refunds(MBB) coupled with my stupidity nearly caused my cheque to bounce. In preparation for funds (sukuk) to be available in my account, I wrote a cheque ready to be deposited in FD. Once saw the fund available(after delay), immediately deposit check into FD on 15/5/12. It wasnt until I received a call from the bank, did I realised that the fund is in my savings account and I did not transfer to cheque account.  doh.gif

Hehehehe.... at least the bank called you up to re-confirm.

Just found out that CIMB allows no-limit Cash Withdrawal at any CIMB branch with passbook + MyKad ..withdrawal slip not necessary.
MBB impose a RM25k cash withdrawal limit at non-home branch.

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ May 18 2012, 12:29 AM)
The best FD rate for 3 months tenure perhaps is HSBC.

50% of the FD will get 5%
50% of the FD will get 3.05% (HSBC's 3 months FD board rate)

Average rate is 4.025%  ---> (5% + 3.05%) = 8.05% / 2

But the drawback is: the minimum FD has to be RM 200K
This FD promo will end on 30 June 2012.

Thats what i thought but the PFC told me after the 6th month, the capital plus the interest will goto ur savings account. Then end of story.
*
Actually after the 6th month, the FD will continue on auto-renewal on 1-month FD board rate.
It won't be return back to the CASA account which interest gets creditted.

The T&C required maintain the balance throughout 180 days, but interest is counted based on 90 days?

i wanna ask something regarding...

example :

some of the banks offer 3.2% p.a for 3month

how does it calculate?

mean i get 3.2% for the 3 month or i need to stay fixed or one year?
*
Interest received for 3-month FD = 0.032 / 366 * 90 days

I agree it can go either way, however looking at the present scenario with Euro having problems plus imminent local elections,  I doubt that BNM will raise rates in the near term.
P/s: I still have a copy of FD with 9.xx% pa.

But is the FD still valid at 9% ?? rolleyes.gif brows.gif

Hi all, this one seems very attractive.  drool.gif Anyone tried? Planning to give it a try when my current FD matured at end July.

But you need to open an HSBC Premier Account-i or HSBC Amanah Advance Account-i at HSBC Amanah Kota Damansara for the purposes of crediting the profit, to enjoy the 5% for 3-month

Basically, at the minimum, you need RM500 for the HSBC Amanah Advance Account-i + RM10,000 for the Term Deposit-i (5% for 3-month)

* HSBC Amanah Advance Account-i has a monthly fee of RM10 per month BUT waive 12-month for this promotion *
QUOTE
You enjoy monthly account fee waiver if :

a. You maintain an average monthly Total Relationship Balance(TRB)* of RM20,000 or more
or:
b. Have an HSBC/HSBC Amanah home financing value of RM150,000 or more

A fee of RM10 monthly will be debited from your HSBC Amanah Advance account if:

Your average monthly Total Relationship Balance(TRB)* is below RM20,000
or:
Do not have an HSBC/HSBC Amanah home financing value of RM150,000 & above
