This will be long, please bear with me.
I got my U41SV only about 3 months ago, and 2 weeks before this, it committed suicide by jumping off the table.
Luckily, the hard drive was intact, but the screen was gone. The LCD had a line cutting through it's diagonal and the upper left part was black, while the lower right part was still functioning.
So, I decided to get a new screen. I asked around if the warranty covers laptop falling, and the answer was no, and that I'll need RM 400 ~ RM 500 to get it done by ASUS. I decided to get one and install it myself. Since I'll be DIY-ing, I decided to upgrade the screen from 1366x768 to a higher resolution one, specifically 1600x900. After much research, I finally decided on the AUO B140RW02 V.1, which is 1600x900 and is matte. I made sure to check that the connectors are compatible.
When the LCD arrived, I was delighted and promptly installed it. However, I'm horrified to find white vertical lines plaguing the screen. Also, the LCD has multiple colour tints to it, changing every time the laptop starts up. I have attach some pictures to show what I'm talking about.
Is there any way to remedy this? Any help will be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!
