From what I have read on the xda forum, after rooting, you can play around with the i/o and the cpu governors if you wanna boost battery life. Try installing apps like Battery Saver and Voltage Control. I hope it helps.

I decided to flash back to stock kernel. It seems like there are some problems for my phone to run on the custom kernel. I don't know if the kernel is the one which is messing the phone like hang issues on the home screen/menu/when texting and also the camera.

How does your phone behaves after rooting?

my battery is doing fine now after clearing the battery stats. I haven't got any problems as of now. The performance is snappier and responsive
