Hi Pros, needed your guideline. Just got my S2 few days ago. Cannot tahan S2 poor battery life and I read forums from net claimed that custom ROM for S2 can increase/get better battery life and decided to root my phone. But I'm newbie/noob of android I downloaded creezalird's S2 guide and read through carefully... Questions: 1. Noob question Can I root the phone without external sd (using phone's internal storage)? 2. After doing some comparison, I decided to root my phone using method 2 (flashing using rooted kernel) with lucifr kernel. The author (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506954) stated "Download--> flash with odin" means copy the file directly into phone internal storage or from external microsd card storage? QUOTE(superkingkong @ May 5 2012, 11:58 PM) 1. yes 2. flash with odin, meaning, download odin program and rooted kernel onto your pc. Then connect your phone to the pc, run odin program on the pc and follow the instruction on creezalird's guide. The link to download odin to your pc is also in the guide. for connecting your phone to the pc, the instruction is in the guide as well. enjoy! Thank for clearing my doubt QUOTE(Matrix @ May 6 2012, 09:02 AM) You play games non stop and watch video and non-stop syncing ten emails account, non-stop flipping live wallpaper, sure lar. Anyway, all smartphones the same...sucks battery, reagardless what brand. Changing ROM frankly is not going to help much. Just keep it charged lar. Not difficult job. Once I test my phone like this (100%): I only played 1/2 hrs game, answered phone calls around 1/2 hrs-->battery ~70%, then no activities/idle till next day morning...battery ~20% I think the new announced S3 still face same fate Added on May 6, 2012, 4:59 pmSuccessfully rooted my S2 Thanks all This post has been edited by cloud97: May 6 2012, 05:41 PM

QUOTE(MEAKU15 @ May 7 2012, 12:11 PM) i think can, cause in cwm u are able to reach that directory but im not too sure abt this. Best practice is to have the rom on the internal memory i think.... thanks for reply. Can u show the procedures how to do so? I stuck at CWM's option "Choose zip from sdcard" (following creezalird's guide) where I can't found any SuperROM3.0.zip file listed (copy to internal storage & not in any sub-folder) Yet another question (sorry I'm noob ) Can I flash to another rooted kernel such from lucifr to superatmos in future? The rooting method still same as described in creezalird's guide? Needed clean any caches, scripts etc before flashing? This post has been edited by cloud97: May 7 2012, 01:30 PM
