I encountered this before...So I just close it and tried a different method. Use the DZKJ1 kernel (MyGKernel).

Thanks! Initially I didn't want to use this method as I was made to understand that this increases binary count?

Yes, it will increase.  But I don't see what the fuss is all about with binary counts. It can always be reset using a USB jig (sold even here on lowyat.net)  in less than 5 minutes.

Ok, gotta wait to download those. While I was searching for rooting methods, I came across this, rooting using SuperOneClick.

Is it for real?

-----------------------------------------Update

Rooting using SuperOneClick works. Superuser app was installed.

2.3.6 DXKJ2

i am too late to save u from "binary counter" doomsday, u cant be saved now lols..
doomlord method is actually easy and working with a little "memory crash" trick.

Aduh don't make me sked =O

I didn't use the flash kernel method. Instead I used SuperOneClick 2.2. Works.

Camera360 buggy. Take one picture, the viewfinder goes BLANK. Must exit.

I confirm that too. I updated mine through KIES. Now running DZKL3. Since it's a new kernel, anyone knows that's new in it?
*
Battery life, camera problem, anything different?

-----------------------------------------------------
Does this mean, need new rooting technique?

I just updated, same 2.3.6 but different kernel. I cant really find out anything different yet.

Yes, need to re-root but so far no luck.  Will keep trying.

Okay, thanks for the info. Maybe just minor updates this time? hmm

camera 1?
i heard majority of s2 also have the prob when take pic under non artificial light

Yup camera one. Only when auto-mode a pink tint will appear when taking pictures of a white background. I checked on xda and it seems like a common issue. Although some users reported no occurrence of such issue.

can warranty a? mine also got.. but normal usage wont appear..
it appear on white background with dim light..

Not sure where or not included in warranty at the moment. They just asked me to bring back to check. Going to Samsung centre tomorrow.

Same, white background, auto mode in White Balance, dim light. It's probably a software issue. I'm thinking they would do a reformat.

Went to Samsung Service Centre this morning. I took my friend there because his i9100 has very noticeable pink spot in the captured images.

The SC changed the camera module and updated the firmware and did a full wipe and restore. The pink spot is less noticeable now but still there.

They said the SC is not authorized to replace any models. If we need to seek replacement or refund we should deal with HQ directly.

Didn't send mine to check because scared will take too long and don't want them to take apart the phone.

Oh yea, the technician checks whether or not phone is rooted. My friend's phone was rooted and apparently his warranty is voided.

So the camera module change wasn't cover by warranty?
*
Just for this time, it's covered by warranty. The next time, warranty is considered void.

Did they check the Binary Count?
*
I think that is what they did. I rooted my friend's i9100 using Odin and he did change to another rom once.

Prior to this, I asked him to reformat the phone and the superuser app was gone so I thought it's unrooted already.

After activating the camera and take a few pictures, the camera lens heat up. Flash once or twice. The heat can feel on the glass covering the camera and on the screen behind the camera. Why so hot?

Sometimes I use heart rate monitor app also heat up the camera.

And yeah, SSC phone service is rude. When I called in, they said just backup your data and come in. Then I wanted to ask something, they tutup phone.

Can someone clarify this?

If I flash super atmos's ROM, via ODIN, will it increase binary count?

I read that binary count is increased when flashing things not signed by Samsung, but if the rom is based on Samsung's firmware, is it still signed by Samsung?
