u can download it from anywhere as long as it is stock firmware, so far i recommend u download the KK1 ( from UAE )
This is by far the most stable one and i am using it.

u can refer my guide. regarding the pit file, some said u must use it, some said it is not a must.

in my experience, i always use one, for rom flashing, not for flashing other things like kernel.

just refer my guide, everything is there as long as u can read english..lols

Hi Creezalird,

I followed your guide until the stage:

Adding CWM support if required (if you need to flash custom rom)
ß Download "ktool" from Android Market
ß Download one of the rooted kernel
¸ Superatmos
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369977)
¸ MyGKernel
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327509)
ß Extract the .tar file and put the zImage file in the root of internal sdcard
(/sdcard/zImage), not the root of external sdcard
ß Run "ktool" and select "Flash kernel from /sdcard/zImage"
ß After succeed, select button "Reboot"

When I run the ktool and select Flash Kernel from /sdcard/zImage
it says Error: "/sdcard/zImage doesnt exist

Anyone have any idea?

did u joined the FB group of i9100G? people over there are kind of moving slowly and helping each other, u should check it out, quite a nice group eventhough sometimes they speak malay...lols..

stock music seems to be having many bugs, some of it are hang during playing, noisy sound etc.

just try another music player from market, i am using google music myself. simple and clean

did u extract/copy the zimage file to the mentioned place?

it should be like this

/sdcard/zImage    ( zImage is a file, not a folder )

usually the rooted kernel (ie superatmos, lucifr, mygkernel) is in a zip/tar form, u need to extract it to get the zImage only

after flashed with ktool, reboot immediately using the reboot button.
*
Yes, I extract it out to the root of the SDCard.

i downloaded the kernel from this link. Tried both the links zImage but its not working too..

just to be sure, do u know where exactly is meant by "/sdcard"

this is not the microsd, this is the internal partition

and did superuser give permissions to ktool when u ran the ktool?

and if possible, use another kernel

like superatmos, this one much updated, use superatmos 2.1 (as 2.2 have some bugs)

or use the new lucifr kernel

Looks like I confused between the sdcard.
Fixed.. thanks smile.gif

Do you have any good ROM to intro? smile.gif

Ok I have a problem now after attempting to flash with a custom rom..

Now my phone stuck at the Samsung GALAXY SII screen and never move from there.
I can't enter CWM mode or Recovery mode...
any advise?

Looks like my phone is bricked.. I was told that CheckROM RevoHD™ V6 only for GT-19100.

Anyone have any idea that USB Jig will be able to help in my case?

When I press Volume Button UP + Home + Power, it will turn off the phone and never turn back on. When I release the Volume Button Up + Home, it turned back on and stuck at the screen again.

In fact I can't even power off my phone.. When I power off it, it will auto restart and stuck at the screen again..

Thanks,

As it was told before, only a few custom roms are available for I9100G, any rom for I9100 will result in a ( temporary most of the time) bricked phone, NEVER EVER FLASH AN I9100 ROM on your I9100G, if you read this thread, lots of answers were given when that happen, you should be able to restore your phone without too much troubles.
