cm9 is custom ROM, your device needs to be rooted in order to flash CM9. correct me if i am wrong.
*
yup you are right.

must get rooted first with codeworks kernel in order to have CWM. once done, flash CM9 with CWM.

for now i dont think it is compatible yet.

and some ppl have said they manage to reset using usb jig by flashing gingerbread bootloader, but im staying away from this for the time being until i read further confirmation that it is safe.

guys. i'm having the problem with my rooted gs2 (siyah kernel v3.3.2 with litening' rom v3.6)

everything seems okay. except for the weird behavior of the battery. when i unplugged the charger, it shows i'm still charging. and the battery icon keeps blinking plus it don't shows the real percentage of the battery.

when i'm charging the phone the battery easily reach 100% in short time. then when i unplugged same thing happen.

been full wipe and flashing again. still happen. is it the rom or the hardware? (usb port or battery)
*
dude most of the guys here are on the G variant model. if youre running siyah kernel, yours is not the G model. might not get the response you are looking for....try searching asking at the samsung s2 thread.

most issuies solved for me.

for some ppl dont know why, they encounter funny bugs.

for me is the BEST thing that ever happen to my phone, due to this cm9, i didnt have to buy an S3. very happywith my S2.

performance wise, and battery life. from 8am-7pm. im very active on the phone, music,FB,calls, whatsapp. i reach home with 50-60% battery with HSDPA/3g. this was not possible ever with the GB custom roms.

@Wira_lover, which nightly version are you using now? my battery performance quiet bad.
*
im using all the nightlies. i update everytime there is an update.

maybe you are having rogue apps? or wakelocks?

manage apps, under developer options, tick on hold back key to kill process. so whenever you are done with a certain app, hold the back key to ensure its 100% killed. and turn on auto brightness.

this my question : I have a trialgle yellow button when everytime o restart my phone I have no idea what is that?
2nd : I allready have 'Superuser and CWM" in my phone , I was ask to install aflash into my sd card but it cant be install . Someone please help me .
*
whenever you flash a customer kernel, you will have that yellow triangle.

if you already have SU and CWM after flashing a custom kernel, it means you are rooted already. im not sure what aflash is, what firmware and kernel are you using?

ok dude. this is bad.

first things first. can you boot into download mode?
-hold down+home+power button

if yes, flash stock ICS firmware or GB firmware depending on what firmware you prefer.

if not able to boot in download mode, try booting into recovery mode and flash a kernel

dude how do you flash a kernel? I open Odin, downloaded the Asia(Malaysia) kernel and..I am not sure what to do now,AND THANKFULLY I AM ABLE TO BOOT INTO DOWNLOAD MODE AND ODIN DETECTS!
*
bro you need to give me more details man. what is asia malaysia kernel?

since you can boot into download mode. you need to flash a stock ROM.

so hiwhc rom do you want to use? gingerbread or ICS?

ICS - I9100GDXLP6

if gingerbread - JPLC1

download one of this firmwares, i suggest the ICS which is the latest, and flash it using ODIN while your phone is in download mode.

once its done. see if it says successful and see if phone can boot up.

OMG THANK YOUUU,I recover from it already, hmm so now I wanna root it,can you like teach me the proper steps?
and Im back on GB,how do I upgrade to ICS and root it at the same time?
THANKS A LOT BRO!!!
*
No prob bro. glad that problem is solved.

ok now. if you wanna upgrade to ICS, just download the ICS firmware ive posted above and flash the stock firmware using ODIN.

once that is done, in order to get rooted :

Method 1:

Advantages: Easy to do, permanent ClockworkMod recovery achieved.
Disadvantages: Increases flash counter. (No yellow triangle though.)

Prerequisites: Codeworkx's LP7 or ICS Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1631934
root.zip here: http://www.mediafire.com/?w3zzodjc1b8kqdh
Step 1: Download Codeworkx's LP7/ICS kernel and flash it using Odin.
Step 2: Put root.zip on either the internal or external SD card.
Step 3: Boot into ClockworkMod recovery by pressing Home Button + Volume Up key + Power key while your phone is turned off.
Step 4: Select install zip from sdcard.
Step 5: Select choose zip from sdcard/internal sdcard, depending on where you put root.zip.
Step 6: Flash root.zip and reboot.

Congratulations, you should now have root access.

Method 2:

Advantages: No flash counter increase or yellow triangle.
Disadvantages: Temporary ClockworkMod Recovery. You must have an External SD Card!

Prerequisites: The CWM.zip and root.zip from this file: http://www.mediafire.com/?yh2ii6mbozz9243
Step 1: Put the CWM.zip onto your EXTERNAL SD Card and root.zip on external OR internal SD.
Step 2: Get into the stock recovery mode by pressing Home Button + Volume Up key + Power key while your phone is turned off.
Step 3: From there, select apply update from external storage, and select the CWM.zip.
Step 4: You should now be taken to CWM Touch Recovery, where you should select install zip from sdcard.
Step 5: Select choose zip from sdcard/internal sdcard, depending on where you put root.zip. (Your internal and external sdcard might have their locations switched with the other, so double-check!)
Step 6: Flash root.zip and reboot.

Congratulations, you should now have root access without binary increase or a yellow triangle.

ADVANCED Method 2:

Advantages: No flash counter increase or yellow triangle. Permanent ClockworkMod Recovery.
Disadvantages: More difficult than the other methods, but this will give you the best result once achieved.

Prerequisites: Properly executed all steps from Method 2 and obtained root.
Codeworkx's LP7 or ICS Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1631934

Step 1: Download and install ktool from Google play.
Step 2: Extract the contents of Codeworkx's LP7 or ICS kernel.
Step 3: Find the file "zimage" and copy it onto your phone's storage.
Step 4: Use ktool to flash the "zimage" file. Reboot.

Congratulations, you now have achieved root with permanent ClockworkMod Recovery AND no flash counter increase.

Guys, if I'm using CWM kernel, does it means I cannot use CM9 rom?
I just happened to flashed CM9 rom but later on I only noticed bout this.
So far seems working but got any side effects?
*
actually i dont understand your issue. ClockWorkMod kernel is required in order to be rooted. only then you can flash CM9. without a rooted kernel you cnat flash cm9

dzkl3 is GB for malaysia. yup each code represent different firmware. got so many others from different countries also..

you are right about odin. just put file in pda. and start. dont mess with anything else. its veryyyyyyyyyyyy dangerous hehe

flash counter is something that samsung check to see if you have flashed custom kernels. in the days of gingerbread, we cna use a usb jig to reset. for the time being for ics, a jig is not able to reset the counter.

so best to follow method 2+ advance method 2 if you are still under warranty

as long as odin can detect your phone and ur phone can go into usb mode to your pc. its fine. don need to have kies.

warranty ,yeah 1 year as i know. if really need to send phone for warranty claim, you can always flashback GB firmware and use usb jig reset the flash counter. only when phone cant boot up at all, is when the problem comes. but if phone cant boot up at all, means samsung service center also cant check the counter. soooo in the end it depends.

simple bro.

you need a rooted kernel (CWM) so you can flash

once you gwet root access you can flash...then you can have cwm recovery. once you have cwm recovery. you can flash cm9

simple as that.
