Sorry for not clear information
ya i'm follow XDA  root , and i'm success now
the only problem is couldn't restore the bootup animation sad.gif
do anyone follow this instruction?
as i'm still very blur with these command mentioned....

=> install "Mount /system (rw / ro)" (utility from the market)
=> set /system as RW with this utility
=> install "Android Terminal Emulator" (utility from the market)
=> copy the two files with cp command
=> change permissions to 644 with chmod
(you can use any file explorer but DO NOT FORGET TO SET PERMISIONS)
*
find and install "root explorer"
using root explorer, just follow the steps from the thread as reference.
its just like copy and paste
just make sure permissions are right

big different with stock?

i wonder want flash or nt.. i noob in this.. scare brick then i gg..
last time i jz noe flash SE firmware, chg driver..
android got kernel / rom i dono wad is tht @@"
*
that is hard question for everyone as battery usage is quite subjective and depends solely on how u use it, but people are saying at least on normal/medium usage, it should at least withstand a day long and with less usage maybe up to 2 days.

question regarding flashing or rooting is easier to answer and quite easy to do also as long as u can read English and understand English pretty well, the guide on the front page is also quite useful although not quite updated.

samsung is always a b*tch with the GPS, u need to use something like "GPS status" or "gpsfix" to get locked first before running other GPS apps like papago and etc

u need to register first at that forum or try this, i think it still work ( user : bugmenot , pass : bugmenot ). after login u will something like download thread and choose papago as the software. u will get an exe file and follow the instruction, choose android x5.. then copy the extracted file to ur sdcard root.

Should I use for the latest DoomLord Easy Rooting kit which is Ver.3 now ? for rooting ..
*
use any version u want, preferably with latest one, because the file is updated.
most importantly, if u failed for few times maybe, keep getting something like "zergling didnt leave anything interesting", u should try "memory crash" method

u need to run as many apps as possible and close with home button so that the app keeps running in background.
make it so that in task manager apps shows : at least 500mb usage

now run the script again, u should get it done smile.gif

erm i read on the xda forum.. before i start, the phone no nid turn off rite?
then i read in the post some 2.3.6 people find it wont works and some say its work..
they say try to run many application make the ram go load over 500mb..

then this ur comment (jz notice both same username) 'i9100G with 2.3.6 succeed, need to install superuser from market first before running the script.'

not really understand.. i thought the superuser from market after root only install?
*
haha, so u do read up.. sorry for the confusion.
at that time, actually not superuser app that helped the rooting process, its the high memory usage, it was just a coincidence that at that, it happened just after i installed the superuser app.

i've tested two times after that, only with high memory usages, basically it will be a success..some other forumers also tried this method too.

just give it a try first, normal try, if not working, try the memory crash method.

*
i havent tried superrom, but currently i am on superatmos kernel and it is running normal, with no heavy battery drain.

but i suspect, the battery percentage script or whatever inside the framework-res.apk is the devil here. because i've tried to replace mine from the one from superrom, and after that my phone a little bit sluggish. but just a big maybe..lols

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682a any 1 tried this? with super one click...
now i go take off my sd card n connect to my laptop..nervous ><
*
thought u've been reading around, if u read every posts here, u will know what i meant with memory crash.

superoneclick method is basically the same method with doomlord, both are using the zergrush exploit.

just use the doomlord method, and make ram usage as high as possible like more than 500mb, after that ran the script. no need to turn off the phone.just follow first post thoroughly

as suspected, adb driver for ur device is not installed succesfully.
if u notice, there is a button "change settings" in ur picture, u should try change that to auto windows update for driver and try run the script again.

*
so u didnt install kies..thats why..lols

did u run apps as many as possible and check with task manager? should be 500mb and above, before u can run the script.. just try it again..

about not rebooting, just turn it off normally, it will reboot itself..dont worry, i've already tested the script like 50 times..lols

running script, enable everything..
auto reboot..
tadaa rooted..
got super user.. so what next? >< so happy thx you!!

now think dono want flash kernel or not ^^
*
glad u did it, welcome to the club..lols
now u can do whatever u want.
gosh, i think i need to write "android for dummies" lols

if u want to flash another rom, like any custom roms out there (only 2 at this moment, juffo or superatmos),
u need to flash another kernel with CWM support.

but if u are satisfied with current rooting only, like u just want to use titanium backup to remove bloatware and any unwanted apps, just stay at where u are..lols

Okay i went thru BBS again at end of the day. Main juice sucker is friendcaster. Even with push notification CD2M.This is the latest version of Fcaster. Earlier versions were having some partial wakelock and kernellock but on this version is much more.

So uninstalled it. Put back on FB for android. Will test out another day with Superatom kernel and Super ROM.

Lets compare outcomes.
Cheers.

weird as my frencaster seems to be working OK thru C2DM, but i am not running any custom rom, just my own mod rom.

I just wanted to add something about what i did next to root.
As some may know, my phone is a chinese one, therefore absolutely no trace of google.
The first thing was to install googleframework then the market.
And i installed market enabler (or equivalent), and this just did miracles, the abilities to change nearly on the fly from country store to other countries, the interresting, is the effect is valid for samsung store too, sometimes free apps are only in the samsung store.
So, appart from customizing the appearance of the phone, and some optimization, i don't think than the current custom roms can really do good on the I9100g yet, still waiting ICS tongue.gif
*
me too, but some optimization are really seducing, so i just integrate all mods myself..lols
market enabler, one of the first 10 apps that i installed first...

hello guys!

rooted my phone in just 1 try!  rclxms.gif

here's what i did:
1. firstly, i bought my phone here in KSA, so i have to update my firmware to DZKJ2.

i downloaded the firmware, odin, and the pit file.

2. then i use the older method to update my firmware by using odin. SUCCESS!  smile.gif

3. after that i downloaded v3 of doomlord, edit the runme file, close kies, then started the root.

4. and after a couple of minutes of crossing my fingers, DONE ROOTING!  rclxms.gif
& now that i'm rooted, i want to install the juffo custom rom. the only problem is, i dont know what to do next. would you guys be kind enough to instruct me on how to continue.

from what i've read, i have to flash the mygkernel to have CWM in order for me to install the custom rom.

how do i flash the mygkernel?

thanks!  smile.gif
*
u can use either mygkernel or superatmos kernel, both have the CWM recovery
to flash the kernel, download "ktool" from android market and of course the mentioned kernel above.
put the zimage file from the downloaded kernel to the root of your phone sd partition.
use ktool to flash it, immediately reboot after that.
now u can access the CWM recovery by holding vol up + home + turn on button.
from CWM u can flash any custom rom or making backup of current rom

use ktool also to backup ur EFS (EFS is all sensitive informations like IMEI number and so on)
