Yeah last him he said he was trying to port AOSP (or vanilla ICS) to the I9100G so I hope he continues with it.

@mathanxp, what happen to your phone if you plug it into your PC? Sometimes if the phone cant boot it will go straight into download mode.

Sometimes users here need to realise that they are using a GT-I9100G instead of a GT-I9100. It is like buying a car with 2 different engine. A modification for one of the engine is incompatible with another.

@Alex, you using what firmware? DZKJ2 or DZKL3? You can take a look at Creelizard's guide.

@bobtiang, I think you cant use that as it is designed for the I9100. There is one that is modified for our I9100G called ICS Rebuild but that is an older version which lack some features stated in the thread.

This ICS Rebuild is based on an older version of the ICS Domination Theme by Vertumus, not as authentic as the latest versions by Vertumus.

Can, but need kernel that got CWM to flash it. Later if want use back original kernel also can if flash through k-tool. I still using DZKJ2 only.

Wont la... It is like installing a game from CD instead from Steam only. You go market is also download the apk to install only..

From my limited knowledge about ROMs (I am not a dev), I dont think that is that easy to make the ICS ROM fully functional like using GPS or even Cellular Data. The chipset may be similar but the other parts are quite different. But if you mean just run ICS and don't care about normal usage then it is doable.

Yeah, no point building something that will become obsolete in a month. They said Galaxy S II getting ICS in around March, I assume it includes the I9100G too so it is really coming soon now.

I got it from the facebook group. I already used it. Somepone modified it for GT-I9100G.

@MEAKU 15, it is said by Samsung that Galaxy S II will get ICS around march to april. I also uploaded some screenshots here.

@KENTK3, it is ported for I9100G original ROM. It will work nicely with any stock ROM IMO.

@Luwk, that is GOLauncherEX and Beautiful Widgets. Can find them on the market. I use ICS GOLauncher EX theme.

@la_Feng, I think we can update through ODIN so the ROM we using is irrevelant. Maybe all our data will we wiped. I not sure how can check the idling apps, maybe someone with more experience can tell you.

Is he using A-GPS?

Reflash a stock ROM through Odin. The exclamation mark thing means it is in download mode, you just plug it into your PC and download.

Downgrade back to DZKJ2, then use DoomLord, update to DZKL3 using Mobile Odin PRO and tick the "Everoot" option. Your phone will be rooted without binary counter increase.
