Can i use latest technique (DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit) on page 1 to root my sgs2 i9100G DZKI1 2.3.5 version ?? Plz guide me...im a newbie ~.~

nope, i bought from lowyat.net too but for only rm15 total, cant remember which thread, just googled around

1) just update to 2.3.6/KJ2 if u still on the old firmware. update can be done with Kies or with Odin. No binary counter will be increased

2) using odin, flash either mygkernel or superatmos, no need for pit file, only kernel, flash as PDA

3) reboot and check superuser functionality.

4) turn off and get into CWM mode. vol up+ home+ on button

5) thats all, using CWM u can flash custom rom like juffo, so far only one custom rom for i9100G

step is just plug the usb jig during the phone turned off. and after it get into download mode, turn off and reboot.
but i am not sure if it will work for the new bootloader, but it will reset the yellow triangle for sure,only not the binary counter

I m on 2.3.6 and successful root after 3 trials. This is what I do!
1. Download n install KIES on my pc.
2. Make sure setting/application/development unselect USB debugging.
3.Connect phone to pc n pc will install all driver n adb driver.
4. If you on 2.3.5 use KIES to update to 2.4.6.
5. Exit KIES n press alt+ctr+del and kill all advadb and kies processes.
6. Go setting/application/development select USB debuggging n unknown resource.
7. Connect phone to pc n run runme ver2. It may fail n stop at rebooting but it does nothing to phone.
8.Just disconnect phone n close the does command windows.
9. Go market n install superuser n busybox. You will realise superuser is successfully installed but busybox only install halfway.
10. Restart phone n pc. Make sure you kill all adb n kies process in task manager on pc.
11. Connect phone n rerun runme files. If it is successful yr phone will be rebooted.

may i ask u update thru kies is juz by connecting usb of phone to pc then the update will available in the kies?

What i did was to try to make my phone memory full, so that the zergrush didn't have much memory to run, i am in 2.3.5.
Sorry if it took me 1 hour or more to give some feedback, but installing android market and google apps gave me hard time too hahaha !

err..well i tried update using Kies via Wi-Fi and also plugin cable connect to Kies...but both also dont have update available shown =.=

Yes, that's what i meant, the cap is around 500MB for zergrush to succeed, at least on my phone, creezalird seems to confirm.

not totally, just for updating firmware, dont flash the rooted kernel if i presumed, u want to keep the warranty.
for rooting still follow the 1st method

nope, i never use any antivirus as i usually just being cautious with my surfing habits, and even it is not proven working after all

i've tested with fresh stock firmware, just add 2 gps apps, as usually gps apps use high RAM. other than that, i just ran everything and close with HOME button.

just try it, it wont kill u..LOLS

hermanchb, go flash rooted kernel using ktool and backup your EFS and also rom. after that, what ever u want..lols

CWM : clockworkmod recovery, usually used to flash custom rom and also make backup rom, get from rooted kernel such as superatmos or mygkernel

ktool : a tool developed by Hellcat(maybe), used for flashing kernel and also for backup EFS, get from market

EFS : it is a folder where sensitive information like IMEI number are stored, a backup should be done to prevent if worse case somehow u lost the data

setcpu or no-frills cpu : get from market or xda, from xda u can get setcpu full version.

EFS is inside ur phone..lols..use ktool to back up the folder..

yep,fasterfix and gps status or gpsfix, because samsung s2 is super duper slow on locking gps compared to my old htc magic T_T

It seems that i indeed was right on the ram ... That might be good signs for our future use of our phone, might means that it is more stable than previous versions, future will tell ...
I finished installing the google apps, following the adb push method, works well.
No google googles though, it is marked as incompatible for our model, and the apk itself refuse to install, i tried older versions that seems to work, but fail to connect, maybe in a near future google will unlock that app for the g version
I didn't install any other things like recovery software or whatever, so apart from rooting and google apps, i have nothing else ...

I had an interesting information yesterday, when i bought my phone, i wanted the non g version, since it was written I9100 on the paper, i went to the shop, and the answer was quite straight, China has completely discontinued the non G version, and no stock available on regular market.
All in all, i think it's a good thing, the regions where this model has been deployed is quite large, a lot more than other exotic model, in my opinion, if you add the chinese market, with malaysian, indian, tunisian, the G model might have more owners than the regular non G version, which could mean good custom roms for ICS in a near future. Samsung just can't give up on those regions since it's the only model being distributed, they are likely forced to deploy ICS on it, and since i read that ICS will be ported on Galaxy 2 series, not only Galaxy 2, i feel rather confident.

i think no one except superatmos himself and maybe some beta testers..LOLS

just need to wait about 10hours more for the download to complete T_T

haha, everyone has their own opinions, i prefer superatmos as he seems to emphasize on perfomance and reliability instead of appearance. but of course i will try it first and tell u all later like 8 hours, but tomorrow morning got some stuff to do.. T_T

u are totally right with the steps, but please do your own rom backup first with CWM before flashing another rom

haha, i am currently jumping around, currently at my parents house in kelantan, sometimes at my sisters Semenyih or Gombak. My internet here sucks, but so long internet is present, more than enufff..lols
