It happened to me many many times.last night also kena .don't worry .

Just reboot your pc. Use task manager to kill kies and all other phone application . Then start odin and connect ur phone . Odin will recognize it.

Then proceed to select the files u wanted to flash originally .wait 20 sec . And press start .

It will work. If it doesn't it means ur drivers got problem .just reinstall back kies ,reboot and repeat all of the above .you can try another usb port on ur pc if u want.

Don't worry its so easy to solve.but first time i did sweat a bit .

I think this happens because kies is still running as background process when u flashing with odin .or odin crash .or u accidently pulled the cable or usb connection loose .

But my experience, not necessary to repartition and go back to stock.
Just flash back the file that was intended to. FOr example....flash kernel....ODIN show fail -- red color... u pull the plug . press to restart the phone, this logo pc-phone comes out... follow my previous steps, can just try again to flash the same kernel.

Of course going back to stock also can. My first time I got hit, I tried re-partition and re-stock. So thanks for chipping in to help our friend here.

A bit odd. I bought my phone Oct 8. I think it was on 2.3.4, because since then I got 2 firmware upgrade thru KIES, DZKI1( 2.3.5)  and DZKJ2 ( 2.3.6).

On my phone , i have done all kind of flash this , flash that, all the kung fu and karate of flashing. Everytime  I stick my USB jig, any yellow triangle if any disappear and the binary counter shows  this in download mode:

PRODUCT NAME: GT--I9100G
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD : NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG_OFFICIAL.
ERASING DOWNLOAD INFORMATION SUCCEEDED.

Hmmmm... does it mean my phone have the old bootloader because everywhere i read people keep "warn" the new bootloader cannot erase binary counter, about the old *.sbl file and stuff.

I am just happy to use the USB jig. Cant leave home without it.      

u are doomed as if u read my guide properly, it is just easy matters, and doomlord method will never f*ckd up ur phone..never ever

man, give it a time for at least a few charging process, as u are flashing and flashing, the phone needs to adjust back its memory...lols

rooted my s2 one week earlier and using stock dzkj2.
freezed some apps(safe) with no OC.
got battery life ~24 hours with moderate use(internet a lot, not so much gaming cuz i get bored easily).

wondering if there is any nice custom rom for G version, cuz i think using customised rom is the best part of rooting(2nd is freezing apps).

im also looking for further method to add more performance into my phone(performance geek) exclude setcpu overclock cuz i think its already running smooth with stock processor speed.

lets hear some opinion from u guys.

my titanium backup pro is v3.6.7..although it is old but it works well for me...lol

thx but i already did that, the fact is that the battery consumption per hour was abnormally high, i don't know why, in less than 8 hours my battery was completely drained after a full charge!!!

i was using supermatos kernel v1.2 with smartass governor btw!

when situation like this happens, go check in BBS, whats the app or activity thats sucking the juice out of ur phone, before u change kernels or charge  the phone.

Currently I am using Kernel 1.2 with Super ROm 1.0, previously when I used 1.1+1.0, the battery life was good. Now is fair.

Yesterday i successful rooted my SGSII with doomlord v3 + memory crash method and my question is can i overclock or tweak my SGSII performance with Setcpu without flashing custom kernel? I prefer to stick with stock rom + stock kernel.

yes..just put bootanimation.rar into sd/superatmos then can use already..even not using superkernel also can use custom animation...

I got a I9100G recently, and I am facing some problems.
Here are the issues currently with my I9100G (its on stock 2.3.6, with no rooting):

1. The Screen modes in Display settings show NO CHANGES in picture whether we choose Dynamic, Standard or Movie. They remain the same. Whereas in I9100, they change.

2. The Proximity Sensor (the red light beside front facing camera) ALWAYS turns ON when the screen is turned on. I had to call someone and then cut the call to make it off. Ideally, it should turn ON only when we are in call, that too depending upon our call setting. In I9100 and other phones which have this sensor, it works as expected.

3. While watching a 720p Flash video in browser, it crashes.

4. In 2.3.6 update for I9100, a new Power Saving setting called System Power setting was introduced, which saves power by CPU throttling more efficiently. Its not there in I9100G 2.3.6.

5. The processor speed seldom reaches to 1200 Mhz, it remains stuck to 1008 Mhz most of the time.

Please let me know if you guys are facing same problems. We can write to Samsung and get it fixed in some update.

Goto Settings->Display. Then Screen Mode is third option from the top. First is Screen Display, second is Brightness and 3rd is Screen Mode. Once you click on Screen Mode, you get 3 options, Dynamic, Standard and Movie. In I9100, depending upon the option, the screen colors change. In I9100G, the colors dont change AT ALL 

Also, what about other issues I posted?

Oh, then it seems the Indian FW has it. They better remove it in next update as its of no use. And how about Proximity sensor issue? There are 2-3 members on XDA who faced the same issue.

Hi guys, new here in SGS2. Just wanna clarify the process of rooting and flashing kernel before i proceed. I am trying to learn here, please be gentle in guiding~ =D I will just list the down the steps and do correct me for any mistakes ~ thanks

1. So based on the guide by creezalird, the rooting is done the moment i click runme.bat right ? (Do i have to backup the original 1 if i were to unroot it in the future for warranty? )

2. So now I wanna flash SuperRom, I first have to backup my current ROM using CWM recovery and backup eps.img with ktool

3. After done with the backup, then choose a kernel version and a rom ( I heard it's better to pair kernel 1.1 with superRom 1.1 right? - I know this question is very subjective, just let me know your opinion if you dont mind =) My sole purpose of rooting and flashing superRom is to solve the poor GPS signal problem)

4. So now i extract the zImage into the directory Computer\GT-I9100G\Phone, and unplug from comp and run ktool is it ? But how about the ROM?

Additional questions
- Which of the actions mentioned above will void the warranty? It's the kernel and firmware right? Which step above actually does the backup for stock kernel ? Do I miss any important steps?
