the problem is that my cable always don't last long if i used it as a on the go unit. That's why i wanted to build my own cable that are cheaper alternative to replacing them.

LAN cable too thin and i find them stink some type of chemical. May not be good for the skin. The connector is the biggest issue now.

JH and UEs are both 2pin sockets. UE pins are slightly shorter and thinner than JH pins.

so if you
1. use UE pins in a JH socket, it might be slightly loose. but i personally have not found that to be the case in my customs.
2. want to fit JH pins into a UE socket, you will have to file slightly or just force it in.

JH connectors may or may not fit into the UM recessed socket because it depends on the strain relief around the pins.

connectors i can't help you.

but if you are looking cables, Moon Audio (silver dragon), Whiplash audio (TWag/TWcu), ALO, Double Helix all has got IEM cables with JH/Westone pins. Beat Audio has got too.

cables like null audio's lune & Audiohub's v5f comes with UE pins, if you want to use them with your JH, just use a pair of pliers and flatten the pins slightly.

cheap ones i think will be the es2 by westone or es8 (es2 clone) by jaben. and they should sound pretty similar to the stock JH cable.

Hmm Thanks for the recomendation. I'm not sure how much different the cable will be between es2 and es8 and JH stock cable but the JH13 i demo in jaben is using es8. So that might or might not effect my purchase.

Last time you said you don't like the SE530 reshell, how do you find about it now?

its good to have it around but i still am not very fond of it. its flat and neutral and has lost the magical mids of the original se530.

i think my se530x6 sounds more like an upgraded se535 than a se530.

i'll be trying out a ES5 next week, which was assured to me to be like an upgraded se530 than a w3/w4.

Hi, do share your overall impression afterwards with comparisons to the like of SE535 or W4 if possible, been very curious to try the ES5 but no chance to do it.
