after my dad wash his car, like normal start the engine and park the car back inside the house ( engine still can start normally at this time)...
the next day morning the engine cannot start...it just keep cranking and the engine just won't start... but the exhaust got the smell of petrol that indicates got fuel getting into the engine...
after that my dad call the mechanic from Tan Chong service centre...what the mechanic did is keep cranking the engine until it start, it take about 2 minute non stop cranking...in the process of cranking the engine i saw a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust (still unable to start yet), then when it is going to start some thicker and thicker black smoke coming out from the exhaust...after the engine had been started, the mechanic rev the engine and more smoke coming out of the exhaust...
the mechanic tell us the problem is cause by the wet spark plug and need to be replace as soon as possible...
after taking the car to service, the prob still remain...need a little bit of cranking only can start...

Do u guys has any experience with this ?
And what causes this problem?
Thanks

If wash engine, normally some wiring got wet. Example spark plug terminals, coil and/or distributors (if any), but normally if this happens, engine should be able to start but vibrate a lot and cannot idle.
But was mentioned after cranked a long time it started, then probably the plugs wet, but by petrol not water, as you can smell the petrol. Once the combustion chamber is flooded with petrol, needs a lot of cranking to start, but must not step on the accelerator any more. Probably can take spark plugs out and have a look.....

hmm...but after sending it to tan chong for service and spark plug replacement, some time in the morning, or after long time no start it still need a little bit of cranking only can start, this does not happen when the car is new...
