QUOTE F&N to boost Malaysia ops amid Thai flood Published: 2011/10/12
Fraser and Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) will boost its operations in Malaysia to ensure an uninterrupted supply of dairy products amid Thailand's worst flood in decades, its chief executive officer Datuk Ng Jui Sia said.
F&N's facility in Rojana Industrial Park, Ayutthaya, under its unit F&N Dairies (Thailand) Ltd, has ceased operations due to the massive floods following unusually heavy moonson rains.
"We are looking at a back-up plan including utilising Petaling Jaya's capacity to back it up and accelerate the construction of our new dairy plant in Pulau Indah," he told reporters at the inauguration of its RM42 million three-in-one monoblock production plant here today.
Some 300 of the 2,150 factories in the ancient capital Ayutthya are affected by the floods, causing many to stop work temporarily. "Only God knows how long our factory in Thailand will cease it operations," he said.

QUOTE(junky_man @ Oct 12 2011, 04:45 PM) should send all the car makers to come here as well. Car maker is harder. This is because car factory exists in an ecosystem where you have supporting industries such as automotive components etc. Another big issue is................import tax.

QUOTE(11c @ Oct 12 2011, 04:46 PM) F&N already launch new production line in Shah Alam, hence it is reasonable to see F&N to invest more in Malaysia.

This is just a temporary measure. I doubt any major companies would relocate out of Thailand because of the floods. And not like this is an annual natural disaster. Related news - http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/12/world/as....html?hpt=hp_c2Asia's wet and wild summer explained

QUOTE(kacanghijau12 @ Oct 14 2011, 01:47 AM) aku rasa makan roti lagi berkhasiat kot. Rakyat Malaysia harus kurangkan makan nasi. makan nasi bukan masalahnya. makan nasi berlebihan, itu masalahnya. namun begitu, aku tahu kebanyakan orang kalau satu hari tak makan nasi walaupun sesuap, badan rasa lemah. (this is psychological problem).

habis la.. beras dah kurang.
asean+3 siap dah sign agreement untuk simpan stok beras takut siam tak dapat keluarkan beras untuk bagi orang asia makan nasi.
time ni lah malaysia patut kembangkan industri beras. asyik juai tanah buat rumah ja. perumahan takkan kemana, invest buat beras untuk anak cucu.
