place the .zip file at root directory, not inside folder.

CM7 rom have to flash twice right. Did you guys do that?

did u both follow the steps given by cynogen carefully? coming from stock rom or other custom rom? i'm using cynogenmod 7.1 now. first, i got stuck at bootscreen too so i tried booting to CWM using the volume down + power button, then wipe data & wipe cache, then flash from the zip file again.

after it hanged i panicked and straight away reflashed the kernel. which din work. tried reflashing to stock kernel. din work either.

well. the flash twice thing was not on the wiki page. so i din know bout that, not until after a few liters of manly tears later.

Stock kernel of cos won't work because it is not compatible with CM7.
Read the thread on XDA as it is more specific for our device and will be more important than the one in wiki.

flashing twice is not a requirement for cynogenmod. some managed to get it to work on first flash. those who cant get it to work will definitely try flashing another time it could be due to some customization is previous custom roms and not wiped properly before installing cynogenmod. dont worry u can try to wipe cache & reflash it until it works for u. it worked for me

i tried like 4 different type of kernels. 3 custom, 1 stock. well. i cant re install cm7.zip , i keep getting installation aborted error. dont know why. i tried goggling and looking around xda an cyao forum. din really get much.

Only 2 kernels are compatible with CM7. The original one that comes with the rom and siyah 2.0 betas. All other kernel are not compatible including stock kernel.

Edit: There is one more that is compatible. It is like the ori cm7 kernel but added bln. Forgot the name liau. Spark i think.

Not flashing KI8 until Jkay support it. Please go ahead and try and report if got any diff with KI3.

i used the original one that came with the rom, the other ones i tried was chain fire. imma try them both. thanks man. really appretiate ur help on this.

Hi, wondering wat is the most stable modem now ? i'm using KI4 and seems to have problem on call , (signal lost during call even though full bar). Just now i try to make a call and it does get through and left a miss call.

Dark Knight 5.5 still uses KI3. He has a version 6, that uses KI8. Not sure I can tell the difference between KI3 and KI8 though, besides darker fonts.

hmmm...not sure why but my phone seems to reject X-power ROM. i used it yesterday for like 4 hours or so and my phone starts to hang, reboot etc..

what i did before load the rom is wipe user data, wipe partition cache and dalvick cache. and then i load it with CWM.

still my phone got issue even after i remove the UV script.hmmm....

now i'm using batista foxhound 2.2 + Abyss kernel 2.3..

did any one have the same issue with X-power KI8? really like the save battery thing but my phone seems to dislike it,huhuhu

tried all 3, still installation aborted. is it because im on 2.3.3?

lol yup google is always our best friend. its not easy to use it cause we need to fake english accent to get it to work haha. well just wanted to try to play with something unusual

yup considering it is free and similar to siri, it is already quite good
